Seems like it was just last weekend, boy this week has really flown by! But at any rate I am so glad to have the weekend here, look forward to some down time without all the hectic schedules and deadlines that week usually has.
Woke up to a chilly morning, 28 degrees ---what happenend to our 40 degree mornings of last week. And even the weather guy is forecasting some flurries by Sunday. Of course as warm as it was last week with highs near 70, it's not expected to stick & accumulate, but it will be pretty to watch it fall --just as long as it doesn't linger.
DH had delish supper of pot roast & potatoes & garden peas prepared and a fire in the fireplace, what a warm welcome! A nice relaxing meal after a long day at work it a great way to start my weekend.
Tomorrow, heading out to do some Christmas shopping & also birthday shopping as my youngest grandson turns 1 on the 7th. Now he just needs to start walking, hopefully not much longer, longing to see him walk to his Nanna.
Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Today is a special day, a day to be thankful for the 55 years the Lord has blessed my husband with. I'm so thankful for being able to celebrate his birthday with him again. 3 ,5 years ago, I thought the Lord was calling him home. We had arrived home after our final revival service for the week & were preparing to pack to leave on our anniversary getaway the following morning. I will never forget those words I heard him exclaim "Oh No, not again". He took his nitros, it was then I realized what was going on, after sitting in the kitchen, then the den & getting no relief from his pain, he came in bedroom & reclined on the pillows in severe pain. I'm thankful for the fortitude of making him take an aspirin just before he passed out. A long story made short, 1 week later after being in the hospital since the heart attack, he underwent his 2nd double bypass surgery. I'm happy to say that today after 3 heart attacks, we've realized each day & each moment should not be taken lightly. We also realize how important it is take care of our bodies.
I'm so thankful that I still have my wonderful husband to share things with & to work together on our journey to improving our health thru proper eating & exercise. Without his support this would be such a difficult journey.
We went out for a steak dinner. We each had a tossed salad with steak, he had fries & I had baked potato. Then went to a Community Thanksgiving Service, what a blessing that was.
Now we are heading home to share in his birthday cake, so I will have only a small piece of carrot cake --his favorite!

When I decided to join my DH while he went deer hunting I really figured it would be something I would tolerate it so we could spend time together. But you know what??? It was I enjoyed walking around in the woods & the excitement & anticipation of hoping to see a deer just around the bend. We actually did see 2 of them, but they were too far ahead for us to get a clear shot. Of course all the walking around was good for me, it felt good to be able to walk & not be breathless.
Some of you wanted a snapshot of my adventure, so here it is...

Today started off a little woozy , sugar was a bit high this morning (183) which was a suprise for me with as well as I did on my calories & food choices yesterday. So I was a little lightheaded & not feeling well but knew I had to go into to the office since I'm out of sickdays that I can take til the new year starts. DH was working from home today so he drove me into work, that was a nice break from having to deal with all the "No driving skills" drivers that are typically on the roads. Seems almost everyday I am thanking the Lord for safey from that reckless drivers who have no regard for human life as they come a little too close for comfort. No wonder the county I work in is the #1 county in our state for accidents with medical injuries.for the 7th year straight!..Hmmmm, no wonder the rates are so high!!
So I got alot accomplished at work after lunch once I got to feeling better. The Office Manager made chicken salad sandwiches for lunch, oh so yummy. After DH picked me up from work, we went to Outback for supper. I decided on rather than getting my usual of a loaded baked potato & the 9oz prime rib, I chose to have the salad, baked sweet potato & the smallest sirloin (6oz) It was delish!
Then we decided to go shop for DH a new laptop as he has just about worn his current one out since he uses it for his ministry work & photography as well. We found a great bargain at Best Buy, he got a Toshiba A665 for under $600 --it has double the Ram & harddrive of his old one for less money. Now that's the kind of sales I like to find.
Tomorrow will be a busy day. I'm going deer hunting with my DH tomorrow morning. Yes, you read it right, I will be decked out in my camos & doing lots of trekking thru the woods as we are on the search for a deer that we can fill our freezer with for the winter. Wonder how many steps can I get in?
Have a great weekend, see you later!
