Excited about MOPS

Our fall semester for MOPS starts on Wed and I am so excited. We have been planning all summer for the "Adventures in Mothering" and we are ready. This is my last year as coordinator and I am sad, but I have truly enjoyed the job and I have received so many blessing from it.
If you are a mom with a child birth through Kinder, I would highly recommend that you join your local MOPS group. They have saved my sanity as a young mom with 3 young kids!!

My first MOPS meeting is coming up Sept. 18th! I am soooo excited too! There are actually 2 different groups in my town, and I am thinking about joining them both...then I can have the experience 2 times a month instead of just 1! Report Inappropriate Comment

I am so off track right now. I start each week good and then by Thursday I am doing poorly. I am ready for the kids to go back to school so I can get back into a routine. My reunion is in 2 months and I still have 35 lbs to loose!! I know my original goal is no longer realistic, but I need to do the best I can.

Dawn... I'm right there with you, and I'm beyond frustrated! We just have to toughen up and get through these rough spots! School started friday for us, so now that it's Monday today, I am starting fresh and I'm gonna be good with exercising and eating if it kills me!!!! I'm going to have a daily schedule with specific exercises on it and my food mapped out like Lensmommy wrote so that way I can "check" them off my list everyday! I'm afraid that's the only way to trick my mind into doing stuff I don't want to do. When does school start? WE can do this! It's hard cause we've all struggled this summer so it's hard to find motivation from each other when we're all in a rough spot. I also like the advice with taking one day at a time... I know it must be discouraging. You see that the goal you set is out of reach, but continue to prod forward, and get as close as you can. Think of all the progress you have made already!!! You look better than you have in years, right? Well, what you lose in the next 2 months will just be icing on the cake. (maybe not a good analogy to make), but you see what I mean. You have made great progress already. And yes, once the kids get back in school, you will be able to get back into a routine, and see more success. Thanks for my blog comment. One thing my WW leader suggests is the night before, journal all your food for the next day, and treat it like a "to do" list, that way you don't stress about what to eat, and you will stay on plan. Report Inappropriate Comment

update to 8.5 lbs lost

When I woke up this morning I weighed 180.4, so I was glad to see I was still down at 180. Thursday's are my oficial weigh in days, so I changed my ticker up 2 lbs and will see what next Thursday brings.
As far at the trick to loosing 8 lbs in 2 hours, I guess you go to bed with a lot on your mind and just lay there thinking!!! And bam, the lbs just melt off!!

Can't sleep...but lost 8.5 lbs!!

Ok, so first of all it is 1:30am and I can't sleep!! My mom is taking my kids on Saturday for 4 days so I can get some stuff done around here. I need to do some painting and clean out the garage. My MOPS group is having a garage sale soon to raise money for convention and I need to get stuff together while the kids are not here. I can't get rid of their stuff while they are home. Everything I try to get rid of they always say "I have been looking for that forever." I figure they didn't want it bad enough cause they stopped looking. Anyways I can't sleep cause I am planning all this stuff in my head.

Oh, and the 8.5 lbs you ask? My body has been so weird since I got into the 180's. It fluctuates so much! On July 4 I was at my lowest weight yet at 179 but was only there for a day. After that it just kept going up and up and down and down. I am totally addicted to my scale. I weigh myself every time I am in the bathroom. Sometimes it is nerve racking, but it also helps keep me on track with my calories. So I tried to go to bed at about 11:30 and I weighed 188.7, which by the way is the most the scale has read in over a month. Now it is 1:30, only 2 hours later, and I weighed 180.2. I just think it is weird. I am sure it is all water weight or whatever, but how could my body use up or whatever it does, 8.5 of water in 2 hours???

Well I am going to try to sleep again. With any luck I will loose another 8 lbs before morning...hehe

That is exactly the reason I forced myself to stay away from the scale until weigh in day. LOL! It is crazy how that thing can fluctuate throughout the day. I figured out that weighing myself every Wednesday morn right after I get up seems to give me the best numbers... so that is what I do!!! Report Inappropriate Comment

I banished my scale to the basement a while back...but of course, dear 'ol Betsy is back from the basement banishment! ...and i'll be waiting to hear how to loose 8 lbs in two hours..i so need that trick right now! Wow...whatever you did to lose 8 lbs in 2 hours you better let us know!! Ha! I too am addicted to the scale...and it is crazy how much it fluctuates! I always weigh at the same time each morning for my "official" weight...but I do weigh throughout the day too, just to see where I'm at... Well...I hope you got some sleep last night...and I hope your scale still says 180.2...and hopefully you will see that 7 after the 1 again...and then never an 8 again after that!! :) Report Inappropriate Comment

new washer

We had to buy a new washer and microwave this weekend. I wanted to paint the laundry room before the washer gets delivered this week. So I spent Sat and Sunday decluttering and painting only to run out of paint. At least the area for the washer is done, so when it gets here I will be ready. I am hoping to finish painting this weekend and paint the kitchen also so we can install the new microwave.
