Butt muscles

Friday, August 16, 2013

So I decided ot os time to restart my regular workouts...with an esy 30 min turbofire workout. After all these were easy when I stopped. Man was I crazy to say that last bit emoticon

After 10 mins I huffing and puffing like the wolf emoticon ..after 5 mins I had to pause..at 30 mins...this is TORTURE thank heavens it is done!! And the next morning, oooh I had pain everywhere. I was reminded of all the muscles I had, the one in my back, the one in my shoulders, and not to forget the one in my butt... talk about ouchies Fter you sit down!! What if I had not stretched after that 30 mins of hell... emoticon

All that aside, it felt great to start again and feeling the burn of my work. I did it twice this week...feels really good emoticon

We're moving to a more spacious apartment which is just down the street for the beginning of next month. the place is empty so the landlord said were can start moving stuff over. So my ST will begin earlier than I expected hahaha. and when I start swimming again..and I know that will be a new set of muscle pains but bring em on!!

It is nice you can start bringing things to the new apartment, it will be nice to have more space.
It is surprising how quickly we can get out of shape without our usual exercise routines, I know, I've in that situation several times.

Darlene can you me make a salad?

Friday, August 09, 2013

So my husband's DD came by today and it's lunchtime. Then Chrissie came upto me and said, "Darlene can you make me a salad?"

Not a sandwich, not give me a donut, make her a salad ...wow!

So I made a salad with lettuce, tomato apples and grapes. Gave her with a chicken leg and three spoonfuls of rice.

As a result of making a salad for a kid, I had a delicious salad to my lunch. Then my DH made a cucumber and avocado mix...yum yum YUM. I probably still overate, but on a kid asking me for salad emoticon

Lovely day!

My daughter does that too when she gets to my house from spending a week at her Dad's. I think the poor children don't get enough chances for fresh stuff anymore and it's becoming a treat!

240 emails

Friday, July 26, 2013

I got married July 20 and the planning, worrying not sleeping has made SP a last priority...giving me 240+ unread emails as I been most off for the last 2 months, or more.

Now all that is over I can finally get back to my regularly scheduled life. Though while off I learnt something

-food is my issue
-wasting food is not bad...the starving children will not get the food if I eat it off or of I don't eat it off.
-my stomach is not as big as I thought it was
-whenever I go to stay somewhere new, my food issues start over..and I have been 5 places this past 2 months...

The last fact scared me a bit cause that means I will have start over again when I actually get home (i'm on honeymoon now which includes staying somewhere new this Sunday).

So for now I take it one day at a time, eat my fruit and chicken dinners, with lettuce, have the occasional chocolate and modify till it works wonders.

I will now go back to my 240+ unread emails sent by SP

Have a great day!!

Set reasonable goals Pace your self. Taking on too much at once is a recipe for disaster
. Glad you are back we after your honeymoon
please think about the sentence I will be starting over once i get home . and tell your self i am picking my self up right here where I am and moving on down the trail. When you get a flat tire while out doing errands you change the tire put the flat in the trunk and head out to finish your errands you don't go home and start out again. just keep moving on you have the tools you need just dust off and the finish is closer than you think. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

It was never about losing weight wasit?

Sunday, April 07, 2013

I feel rejuvenated from my SP break. I have learnt some stuff too

1. This journey was never about losing weight!

My dad jogs for a hour days per week. he just drive out and drives back in sweaty and smelly. i went with him a few times when I was younger but never got into running around a field. But he does it. He has never entered a 5k marathon etc,he does it and he told me this week he eats veggies every night before he does to bed. He never stopped after he lost a bit f eight and he never stopped after maintaining he weight for years.

Then it occurred to me....I will be doing this the rest of my life, not just till I lose the weight! So this journey cannot be about losing the weight. Weight loss is an added bonus to it all.

So now with my new discovery, I will set my goals cause they will make me a healthy old person, who can swim for a hour non-stop instead of being hooked up to machines.

2. Baby steps are really small

I have gone back to my food issue and have made the following goals, which I stuck with more all but one day on my break' even on Saturday...my eating habits usually get thrown out the window on Saturdays
--eat one fruit for breakfast
-eat two fruit/veggie for lunch
-eat one veggie for dinner

Now that is still less than the required 5 servings but I find that when broken down like this I stick to it instead of one big goal of 5 servings per day. I decided to leave the snack part out because I do eat them for snack and that as never my issue and if I don't for one day that is cool too.

Two very important lessons to help me on my life long journey and on the ay I will be ticking off items on my bucket list1

Great blog and just what I needed to remind myself since I have been away from Spark for a few weeks. It has to be about the healthy and feeling good, not about the losing weight. That is what will help us know this is a lifestyle change.

You are so right! This is a lifestyle choice for the rest of your life not a diet! You have to do what you find that you can maintain for the long haul. Asd long as you include eating healthy foods most of the time and exercise daily even if for only 10 minutes it is something. Find an exercise you will enjoy not one because someone else you know does it or says you should try it. you have to find what will work for you. this is your life so you have to live it for you!

Take care and have an awesome week emoticon emoticon I know you can!!!

I am going to borrow you sentence
This journey was never about losing weight!
its something i need to keep reminding my self when the scales goes up and down!
I will ask my self how much better i feel can i walk longer with out having to stop ?
how are my meals going or did i toss the plan out the window?
Baby steps are really small is another good one all to often we have these hug plans and then get down on our selves wen we don't reach them. thinking about this sentence reminded of a game we played as kids.Mother May I thanks for the memory and the reminder we can win the game with baby steps. keep us up dated on how things are going. I even found some ideas to see if we can get our team going if its O Kay. when i get written on paper i will ask you first
have a great week on the spark trail.

Every day is a new chance to take steps towards reaching our goals! Keep doing your best, and never give up. Always remember that you are worth the effort

Its great that you have figured out what the healthy habits are about......By reading this I am learning a few things about "life" as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...they really hit home this morning as I am having some changing thoughts about growing older. At 43 years old I'm still young enough to make the changes needed to grow old.Wishing you much success and motivation!

Good luck with reviewing your goals. I did that awhile ago now and i've found following the five rules of "the Leptin diet" really work good for me. I do not track either as I find it too time consuming and not something I feel I'd be able to keep up to long term. I'm losing weight this way which is great for me.

Glad to know you are not gone forever! Let us know what your new goals are when you have them all worked out. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
