I just wanted to tell everyone that I will be AWOL for a bit.
I am having shoulder surgery on Tuesday(yes, if you are a
praying person,I covet your prayers). It makes me uncomfortable
to undergo anesthesia...
I don't know how I will be painwise, but if it is not terribly bad,
then I'll be on here typing with one hand.....
So please do not think I have disappeared, or fell off my diet wagon.
THE moral of this story is this: when you are short, and ride a lower
type Harley Davidson motorcycle, and you are going to load same on
to a trailer, do make sure YOU don't bottom out. I didn't even think
of that, and almost went off the ramp under the bike. I have always
done a lot of lifting and heavy work, never crossed my mind to let the
bike drop (because I knew I'd be under it) so progressively, over the
last several months the left shoulder has gotten to be so painful I can't
sleep w/o meds....
I also want to POST how proud I am of DAVID. He has lost an AMAZING
23 POUNDS as of this morning..........

We never know, when you stop and think about it, when we talk with someone
or talk to them on spark, what that person is going through in their personal life.
I am going to make an effort to give someone on here an encouraging word or two
daily. I have read pain.....and I feel for those people...
Let's all of us try to be a little kinder to each other............

I found these, thought they were an excellent read, so wanted to share:
Blessings on you my friends! Darlene
Below are eight gifts that don't cost a cent to give.
1) THE GIFT OF LISTENING...
But you must REALLY listen.
No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response.
2) THE GIFT OF AFFECTION...
Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and
Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family
3) THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER...
Funny pictures. Share articles, funny stories and funny
greetings. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
4) THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE...
It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet.
A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and
may even change a life.
5) THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT...
A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super
job" or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day.
6) THE GIFT OF A FAVOR...
Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.
Helping elderly cross the road can be nice.
7) THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE...
There are times when we want nothing better than to be left
alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of
solitude to others.
8) THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION...
The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to
someone, really it's not that hard to say, Hello or Thank You.

I haven't posted because I really didn't have anything new to write about.
Hopefully I am getting back on track with the weight thing. I had gained
some back, and just said stop. I had to come to the conclusion that I cant
do what anyone else does, and so far have lost about three pounds of what
I had gained back. I have to call my dr. and reschedule my appt. because I
know she will be upset with me for gaining. No more than I am upset with
me tho, I am sure. I am hoping to at least lose to what I was last time I was
It is hard to deal with all this, can't get out and walk because my hip hurts
so bad, seems it is one health problem after another. I am grateful they are
not worse than they are, but it does get discouraging.
I will not be beaten. My will has never been broken before, and I will not
allow this situation to beat me now.
Seeya all at the salad bowl...........LOL

I am just taking a few minutes here to say goodbye to Farrah Fawcett
and Michael Jackson. Both relatively young. Farrah put up a terrific
fight against cancer, and Michael Jackson apparently, according to the
news report this morning, may have received some kind of injection
before having a heart attack. The search is on for the dr. who lived
with him. I personally would not ever say anything negative, and as I
told some folks posting last night, elsewhere, remember he has children
who may read those unkind words. All they are going to know is their
daddy is gone.
Life is short. Enjoy and treasure every single minute, and never miss a
chance to say "I love you" to someone................whether it is your own
children, your spouse, your friends or family.
