Husband health issues

For those of you who know/or don't, David has been having issues for about 3 weeks
with his blood pressure running too high. Optimum is 120/80, which would be wonderful,
but at the drs. office he was 177/104, so his cardiologist ordered him to take 2 of one
of his morning pills, after a week, it still was in the 157/95 or 92 etc...pulse running
in the mid to upper 70's...so his cardiologist ordered another pill added to his repertoire
to take pm. Yesterday I took the copy of his 10 day record of BP and pulse readings in,
this morning they called and added a new morning pill in addition to the other pills.

It goes without saying that he does not like this. So he had the copy of his sonogram
from last week faxed up to his surgeon, and we see her on Monday about his GallBladder.
It is a laproscopic procedure, but since he would have to be under anesthesia, I am so
uncomfortable with this ........... he has had his heart stress test last week also, but it just
is scary with all his other issues.

The surgeon seems to think if he gets the gallbladder out, his bp will go back to its
regular reading..........we shall find out more about this on Monday.

I was going to try to write everyone who posted on my page for me being MOD this
past week...however, when I got to counting I decided I would be better off blogging.
Thank you to each of you who posted and gave me thumbs up.....if ya'll had not posted
I might have missed my picture....LOL.....sometimes I am not too observant....

All of my friends live in my computer, under the Sparkpeople group....I just wanted
you all to know you inspire me to keep trying, keep pushing forward toward my goal
weight and a much healthier lifestyle.

If I can inspire anybody to follow Spark principles and get healthier, then I have
succeeded. If anything that I say can inspire someone to give it another day, not
to give up on themselves, then I can feel good about my day.

I wish I could write each of you individually, but there are hundreds of posts.
Thank you to each of you, I don't feel so alone ..........................

This is a true story that happened in Alabama and a miscarriage of justice led to
a life devoted to God. By the way, it all happened just a few miles from us and
a couple of weeks ago, I got to meet the author and the mans' wife, son and DIL.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ONE. Once I started reading, I could not put it down.

Rather than trying to explain to everyone what has been going on: Here goes.

My daughter and I, some 25 years ago, bought a horse. He was an infant, an Arabian
with lineage back-back-back, but was the spitting image of one of his grand sires,
Bask....we raised this little scamp on a bottle. He was hers, but he knew I was good
for extra loving, treats and so forth. He did tricks, was too smart for his own good.

He unlocked stall doors, barn doors, many times my daughter left the kitchen door open
and he just walked in and waited on her to appear. His legal name was Desert Ablaze....
and Blaze had more personality than any horse I ever knew, and that is a pile of them.....
He did not know any bad habits, never once nipped, kicked, bucked. He was the most
gentle soul, and when she saddle broke him gently, he would go all day and at dark, be
dancing to go more....endless energy.

Fast forward to about 2 months ago. After being in perfect health for his whole life, except
for a little scratch he got playing with one of the other horses. Barbara & Paul(SIL) came
home from work and he was down. His pasture buddy was running the fence screaming
and rearing and caring on trying to get attention for his friend. She ran to Blaze, Paul ran
to get the horse trailer hooked up and she coaxed him to his feet, he loaded and was
rushed to the equine hospital, where he stayed for 2 weeks, during which time, his
compacted intestine was cleared but he began to founder. They put special boots on him
and brought him home, buying special bedding for cushion, two huge barn fans to keep him
comfy, special food, and a list of meds.

He gained some weight back, but the foundering turned into Laminitis in the front, and
as many of you may know, that is what killed the great racehorse, Secretariant. Still they
tried everything, and I asked many on here to pray for him.....

For a while, he did better. Then he hit a stumbling block.

Sunday, Barbara said she had to beg him to get up, he struggled for a good bit, but he did
manage to get to his feet, and they HURT, because he never showed pain or distress til
Sunday. He was in agony. She called me, and we discussed it, through all our tears and
sobs..............and we decided it was time......Blaze was 25, lived the life of Riley, and he
did not deserve to continue suffering as he was.....he quit eating....and for him to not eat,
was a major signal. I asked her to put the phone to his ear so I could tell him goodbye,
and I told him how good a boy he is, what a joy he has been in our lives, how much I loved
him and would miss him....she kissed him for me.....and I told Barbara to be brave and
know she did the best she could. They have spent thousands on the hospital, special care,
not to mention her getting up at 4AM and sometimes not getting to bed til midnight, trying
to help him. So I know they tried........and had I not been in Alabama I would have been
there helping with his care.

So, Sunday evening, Desert Ablaze crossed the Rainbow Bridge into Heaven.
I have cried until, truthfully, I made myself sick....so this is my eulogy for my gutsy
beautiful friend...

Barbara and I both had the same dream Sunday night, after I seriously cried myself to
sleep...as did she...........

Blaze crossed the Rainbow Bridge, met his buds who had gone before, R.C., Snake, Queen
and Buck, and several of our dogs, they all rubbed noses hello again, and took out across
the most perfect meadow .......... Blaze had his neck arched and his tail flagged high and
they all were together.........
See you later my much loved friend, you were the best, and there will never be any to
try to take your place...........


PS: I just had to add this little story about Blaze. Barbara said when they took him to
the hospital, there was a white mare in a paddock closeby, and as sick as Blaze was, he
raised his head and nickered and whinnied at her....she said it was like he was saying,
"even though I am feeling pretty bad right now, I want to tell you how fine you look today."
The neverending flirtation....he was a character....
