This is great!! Bunji-jumping is amazing! I've done it and want to do it again. After that first leap it's easy to do so again! And so worth it! Just had to add!

LOL! Oh, we are soo much alike, Momma! I love those answers. They are funny, poignant and so honest. Looks like we both have a problem with being leadfooted and we both love our CCR. And my heart goes out to you on the loss of those beautiful brothers. Not a day doesn't go by that I don't think about mine. He was too young, too. But I'm sure you take comfort in knowing that they are waiting for us on the other side.

And I am pretty sure there are Harley's in heaven. Where the gas tank is ALWAYS full.

THANKS FRIENDS.......

Wednesday, August 04, 2010

I have decided to say thank you to each of you, all ya'll know who you are.
During the time I have been on Spark I have made so many friends and met so
many people who are a blessing, BOTH to me and to many others by their
positive attitude and good examples they set.

Sometimes, when I open up my sparkmail and see a comment, I just have to stop
and think how blessed I am. When I first got to Alabama, I knew not a soul here,
besides my husband. (We will discount my MIL & SIL) LOL

You all have been a lifeline for me, and I feel I have made friends that will last for
a lifetime.

This is MY story, and I am STICKING to it.

All ya'll know who you are.
Love n Hugs to each,

Thank God for the internet and Spark, it'll help us if we diligently use it. One of the many things I like about it is the ability to leave a note of encouragement on each others pages. I also love to give goodies to my friends.
In my circle of friends here in my town, no one even comes close to understanding or doing anything about their weight, so all my support (too) comes from my Spark friends. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Decisions decisions

Monday, August 02, 2010

I have had to ask David to help me get back on the exercise wagon and also to stop
eating ice cream, cookies, ice cream, candy, ice cream, chips and dip(especially cheese)
and did I mention chips n dip????

I figure if I can get him to commit to not eating it, as well as not in front of me,
he will lose the pounds he wants to lose and I can get more motivated too....It is hard
watching him chow down on stuff, even stuff he knows he should NOT be eating, and
keeping out of it myself.

I will save the problems with my doctor for a later post...LOL

LOL All ya'll keep your fingers crossed, I am weighing tomorrow.........

How did the weigh in go Sis? Im stuck on the same plateau ive been on since I started on SP. It goes up and down by a pound or two but I always return to the same weight. I'm working on a new plan, and I hope you will help keep me on the straight and narrow. By for now I'll write soon Janey lol emoticon We've had rain, but dont tell anyone . They'll all want some.

Good luck and I hope you get the help you need to get back to the exercise and away from the chip and ice cream! I am so in the same boat right now..we can do this..we can get back in the mindset that we NEED this. Our health is too important and we CAN do this!!

Hopefully David will understand and cooperate. If not, try keeping something for you to munch that won't be as damaging--he goes for chips & dip--you go for popcorn, carrots, celery, something crunchy. He goes for ice cream, you go for low fat yogurt.

JOHN49494949 8/3/2010 6:12AM

    Darlene,
Hope you get back on the exercise wagon without too much effort...... No pun intended.

I still like the odd "special treat" myself. One thing could be to buy the smallest package of ice cream you can, rather than have a large amount available in the house. Similar for the other items. Maybe you can just buy one at a time from the store. But not if it causes too much friction...... I have on many occasions had to ask my kids (20, 20& 13)to eat in another room. They do not like it but it is my ( & Sharons) house. In my case they were eating a Thai curry and it was killing me. I had eaten it the day before but had to get them to move into the other room and then open a window.... Difficult here.... It is the middle of winter. No 100 degree days for us at he moment more like 50-60 F.

Hang in there. If he wants to "chow down" Go for a ride!!!!!! When it warms up that is what I will do.

Kindest Regards

John emoticon

This is going to sound so trite, but if you stack the refrigerator and pantry with healthy choices up front and bury the "gooder" stuff way at the back it MAY make it easier on both of you to make the right choices.

At the same time I'm sure that now you've explained to David, that eating these foods in front of you is undermining your efforts to get healthier and fitter, assuming straight talk, no telepathy, no hints and no beating around the bush. DH will be more than happy to get with the program.

Hope everything else is going well and that both are getting some miles on those fabulous steel horses.
