When you reach a goal, what's your favorite way to celebrate that doesn't involve eating?

If it involves going down a size in clothing I buy either a new top or bottom.

H.A.L.T helped me pole vault

Monday, June 16, 2014

AA teaches an alcoholic to H.A.L.T when the desire to drink her/his mind. So, after the movie last night my husband, my son and his girlfriend wanted to eat out. emoticon It was late. I wanted to eat right along with them, instead: I asked myself if I was hungry? Angry? Lonely? Or Tired? emoticon

I was tired; therefore, while they ate, I clicked into sparkpeople to find success stories.

Tiny hurdle for some. Pole vaulting to me. emoticon

SP is like the A.A. for those of us addicted to food. So it's good to use the same strategies they use to "get off the wagon" and climb back on the horse. emoticon

Don't judge a day until. . .

Sunday, June 15, 2014

it's over.

Last weekend, I got into an elevator (early in the morning). Another person was getting on at the same time. Naturally, he and I exchanged pleasant hellos. I don't remember how the comment came up but he told me that he never judges a day until it's over. I guess he saw that I was already judging my day as bad. His comment moved me to the point that I am considering getting my first tattoo with the comment, "Never Judge a Day Until It's Over." Maybe if it's written on my wrist, I will be able to remind myself when I wake up that if I judge it to be a bad day without giving it a fair shake, then I will indeed have a bad day.

Day #1

Sunday, April 01, 2012

There's always a day 1. After reading some of the success stories, I am very positive that I will be there too. Words of wisdom: Spring looks better today!
