So I partied hearty for the 4th of July. I couldn't even finish my nutrition tracker because I ate and drank so mindlessly. I am not going to let this get me down! Yes I went over on calories. I also went on a run this morning and spent a long time in the pool today.
I recognize that in order to be successful in losing weight I need to view this as a life style change and not a diet. I have completely changed my lifestyle! I log my calories every day, have become a running addict, and am now adding strength training through the wii fit. I won't let my lifestyle stop me from living. If it is a holiday, and I have been on track for weeks, I will let my hair down and not obsess for a day. The old Bean (what I call myself) would have let my eating today get me down and continue to eat like that for the rest of the week. This bean will be right back on track tomorrow. I doubt I gained half a pound, and even if I did, it will be gone in a week and I will still be 20 pounds lighter than when I started.
I will continue to get healthier.

So for my birthday my husband and I decided to go to Yosemite and hike the Mist Trail! It was intense! I really had no idea what I was in for, but the hike is so steep it makes 3 miles feel more like 100. I am really proud of myself for pushing through to the end and not allowing myself to quit. Of course, now I'm sore and exhausted, and will need an extra day of rest before continuing my couch to 5k run. My legs cry out every time I stand up.
Still it was nice to spend my birthday accomplishing something instead of complete indulgence.
This week my goals are:
Complete week 3 of couch to 5k run
20 minute devotions for 5 days
15 minute wii fit for 3 days
30 minutes of practice for 5 days

Last week went fantastic! Ran three times, went on two walks with my husband, and did wii fit twice (just for 15 minutes each). I'm definitely on the right path, and I'm glad my husband and I have worked out a program where we have to exercise to get our allowance. I'm not tracking food yet, but I am eating more at home and making better choices. I don't want to take on too much at once, instead I'm trying to slowly turn my lifestyle around.
This week my goals are:
Complete week 2 of couch to 5k run
15 minutes Wii Fit 3 days
10 minutes of prayer 6 days
1/2 hour piano practice 5 days

So I completely stopped caring about being healthy as soon as the weather went cold, but I'm back and am going to take this on one step at a time.
My plan is to make a lifestyle change one week at a time, adding one new goal a week.
This week my goal is to exercise 6 days, and also spend 10 minutes a day in prayer. I can't change on my own, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Will log my work outs every day.

Although, I'm still not doing better, I'm not going to give up. It really meant a lot to me to see all those comments on my last blog.
It's really hard to get outside when it's sooooo cold, but I know that is no excuse to stop running. I need to think of ways to reward myself for good behavior. I think that will help motivate me.
