Sorry I disappeared for awhile. Taking in some stuff.... and not quite feeling up to par. Have been low energy and not sleeping well.... feverish/chills... headache on and off... all of my little ones have been sick... so I'm sure it's just a cold or something. I haven't been so good with journaling my food or getting in my workouts since Friday.
We had a doctor's appt for my youngest son on Friday and will have the rest of the assessment in a month. I really like the doctor and her approach. She has personal experience with Asperger's so that's comforting.
Had a busy weekend, and my oldest son started behind the wheel classes this week, we had conferences at school... I've been running every day since Friday. I lounged a bit on the couch the past couple of nights.... feeling it's what my body is begging for.
The snow is melting here... it's going to be 51 today!!! Koko is napping on the deck!! She loves to be outside but not so much when it's cold out.
I'm going to start with yesterday's stats, since I wasn't so good at journaling the past couple of days. As far as gratitude goes....
I'm grateful for a lot of things right now.... for the doctor who understands exactly what I'm going through, for my boys who are showing me how grown up that they are with wanting to do something to help the people of Japan, that things seem to be looking up for me, hubby and I planned our annual getaway for our anniversary coming up in May, and I'm grateful for all of you!!
workout: 20 min run/walk at the gym
b- fiber one bar, coffee, light bacon
l- sloppy joe, 2 1/2 dinner rolls
d- 1 sm slice pizza, sloppy joe meat
water- 64 oz
gratitude- that my husband was sweet enough to drop off/pick up my son for driver's ed so I could relax a little. Wasn't feeling very good on/off through the day. My youngest son came home sick from school too... complaining of the same things. I feel better this morning.
Have a great day!!

Well.. I indulged in some sweats yesterday since it was my last day, and I sadly gave my last 4 cookies to my boys. They were pretty excited. They like Somoas, but their first choice is Thin Mints. No more Samoas here until my God Daughter delivers the boxes I ordered from her. I figure if I'm really missing them... I'll throw a box in the freezer for when Lent is done... but if I'm doing okay without them... I'll let my boys eat them up.
The scale is moving down and I'm so super excited because I know that giving up sweats is only going to help!!!
workouts: 40 min wii fit, 20 min treadmill
b- fiber one bar, 4 Samoas, coffee
l- blt sub, couple potato chips
s- 4 mini laffy taffys
d- P90X recovery drink
water- 70 oz
Gratitude- I'm so happy for my husband who bought me a new camera yesterday!! I LOVE to take pictures and my camera has been acting up for the past couple of months. I think it's just old and wearing out. I take a LOT of pictures and have had it for more than 10 years. It was my first digital camera. 2 years ago, he bought me a SLR camera which I love, but it's so big, I don't always like to bring it when I go somewhere... I like my small one for things like that because it fits in my purse or my pocket. The new camera takes video just like my old one did..... and it has an awesome zoom on it!!! Best of all.... YOu can edit pictures right on the camera!!!!!! I love it!!! I was so suprised when he gave me the money and told me that he had it on hold and sent me to pick it up. (he works past 6 every night and the place closes at 5:30) Thanks honey!!! Now.... as he warned my boys... "watch out! Mom's got a new toy!" (they know that they are now the target of many, many pictures!!!)

Yesterday was a better day than over the weekend, but I caved on some candy. Tomorrow starts our "Lent" season and I was trying to think about what to give up this year. Last year I gave up candy and soda. That was tough... I was drinking more than a can of soda a day and was having 2-3 Twix peanut butter candy bars a week!! To this day... a year later...I've only had a bite of a Twix candy bar!!! I've decided I'm going to give up "Sweats".... just in time for those Girl Scout cookies to be delivered!! 3 boxes arrived yesterday, but thank goodness... between my boys and my hubby.... they are almost gone!!! Today will be my last day to "indulge" on candy and sweats and then.... NONE for the next 46 days!!!! I think it's what I need right now to focus on my weightloss.... and it'll help me set a good example for my boys. My boys are just arriving at the stage where they are wanting to "give up" something... I usually let them choose to work on doing something or giving up something for the Lent season. They were inspired by my hard work last year and that I was able to give up my 2 favorite things for that long. That makes me feel good! My oldest has decided to give up soda.... up until this past year, they only got soda when we went out for dinner, or for a special occassion. I started allowing them 2 sodas a week, and now my oldest son uses his "own" money to buy soda at school. I'm really glad to see that he is giving it up for Lent. My youngest son is going to eat at least 1 pc of fruit every day. I'm so proud of them!!!
So.... those Girl Scout cookies.... today is the last day for me to have any. I'm kind of releived, because I swear.... I have NO control when it comes to eating them!!! Thin Mints are my favorite.... and I remember ordering them back when I was in High School from friends and eating an entire box!!!! (I was skinny then... I weighed 93 pounds when I graduated high school!! ) I think about how easy it would be to eat my new favorites.... The Somoas!!! There aren't quite as many in a box.... but OMG!!!! THE CALORIES!!!! I had 4 yesterday.... and 4 this morning already. The thing is.... I keep remebering my scale this morning and how I am back down the weight that I was up over the weekend.... I don't want to mess that up. I also saw that, hey, I was okay on the scale after having 4 little cookies.... if I'm aware of what I put in my mouth, and allow those little "indulges".... as long as they are little...and I have the calories available, I'll be okay.
Here's how I did yesterday:
workout- 35 min wii fit, 20 min treadmill
b fiber one bar, coffee, 2 Somoas
s- 1 c popcorn
l- P90X recovery drink
s- 100 calorie walnuts & almonds, 2 Somoas
d- BLT sub, pc of garlic bread
s- 4 mini Laffy Taffys
water- 83 oz water
Gratitude- I'm grateful that my boys try hard in school and that I don't have to get on them for their grades. They are self motivated, and I'm so proud of them! They came home with their report cards yesterday and my oldest had 5 A's and a B... and he's in 3 advanced classes in his first year in High School!! My youngest got 3 A's, 4 B's and 1 C. He's got a lot going on with his Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, and OCD.... so that is a WONDERFUL report card in my eyes!! I don't get hung up on the A's.... if they work hard, that is what matters to me. All I ask is for them to do their BEST... whatever that may be. If they get a C... and I know that they worked really hard for that C... that is an A in my mind. I also have them work towards something with their report card, so they've earned a dinner out .... and they of course chose The Olive Garden (that's their favorite place!), and I feel like it's a perfect reward... we all get to celebrate their hard work and have a nice night together!! Guess we'll be planning our dinner out for the next week or so.
