I first saw this man's story on The Daily Spark. Was nice to see it again! So hard to believe he could lose that much weight and recover his mobility in such an incredibly short time simply doing yoga? His instructor must have been incredible motivating!
Hope you are doing good!

Anyone else having to deal with Healthcare.gov again?

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Anyone else get notification Healthcare.gov needed more information? I have been trying to take care of getting them my information but I spent 2 days and hours on phone to be able to just get logged in yesterday and now today after all that work when I try and log in it says that web page (after me doing password) is not a good web page. Anyone have any success?

SPARKPEOPLE.COM has made the impossible possible

Saturday, October 12, 2013

Yesterday we went to grandson's school for Grandparent Day. Three years ago I was not physically able to go, two years ago I went on scooter but could not get to his classroom with scooter, this year I walked from the place where they had refreshments all the way across a big parking lot to the school then up ramp to his classroom and got to see part of his school tour then to the gym for entertainment, then he went home with us and we were busy playing with him until his dad picked him up at 5 o'clock including walking around a store while he shopped. My husband was worn out during this and had to take a nap and I entertained our grandson. This all started at 6 a.m and by 7:30 p.m. my husband & I went to bed! Included in this day I set the table and cleaned up the kitchen. Three years ago (just started SP) I could not even stand long enough to wash 2 plates or wipe off the kitchen counter. If I wanted something to drink I had to ask for someone to get it for me now I get drinks for others and carry their drinks to them...I could go on and on the wonderful "normals" I have "recaputered" because of the sparkpeople.com site. Happy dance going on here!

Wonderful! Spark is great help but results come from a partnership - you must believe and do the necessary work. You are an inspiration to many, including me, to keep going. Who would've believed I would ever be gardening and canning again, much less babysitting my toddler granddaughter, yet here we both are, cheerfully doing the formerly impossible! May Spark, and you, be blessed with continual progress!

Margarette, I am SO happy for you about this. I haven't been able to go to the last 2 Grandparent's days at my grandson's school for the same reason...couldn't get around. I'm truly hoping that maybe next year will be different, if not this year...I think it's next month. I'm beginning to see good progress on the scale and I'm working on increasing my exercise. I plan on being another success story like yours. I'm so proud of you. Thanks for showing me directly that what I'm doing can pay off in such a great way!

That is a terrific milestone! Just think how your grandson will forget all about the fact that you weren't able to come three years ago - you will just be his 'normal' gramma who can do anything. How awesome that is!

Hugs and cheers and happy dancing with you (as long as we don't hurt ourselves in the process)

Words of wisdom from Paul "Bear" Bryant (U.S. football)

Friday, August 23, 2013

This man is and was loved by fans and his football players. When I read some of his words I thought they might be good for all of us. His record shows he knew what he was talking about. He was a winner and he was able to motivate his players to become winners. As I read about goals it sounded just like what we learn here on sparkpeople.com. Margarette
........................................
......................................
......................................
................
Paul "Bear" Bryant won 323 football games and 6 national championships during his 38 years as head coach at U of AL, Texas A&M, Kentucky & Maryland.

NEVER QUIT. It is the easiest cop-out in the world.
Set a GOAL and don't quit until you attain it.
WHEN you do attain it , set another GOAL and DON'T QUIT UNTIL
YOU REACH IT.
NEVER QUIT

There's a lot of blood, sweat and guts between DREAMS and SUCCESS.

From Wikipedia:
Paul "Bear" Bryant was an American college football player and coach. He was best known as the long time head coach of the University of Alabama football team. During his 25-year tenure as Alabama's head coach, he amassed six national championships and thirteen conference championships. Upon his retirement in 1982, he held the record for most wins as head coach in collegiate football history with 323 wins.

Thank you for sharing that. I was wondering what was up with you and Bear Bryant! LOL

He did have a few memorable moments of having said something quite deep that he left his players with.

Never give up just keep baby stepping.

Monday, August 19, 2013

Had a wonderful day last Thursday. One that 2 & 1/2 years ago was not possible. I did not even dare to dream back then I would be able to do what I did. We left about 9:30 a.m. and got home about 4:30 p.m. , we drove down to The Great River Road near Alton, IL then up to Grafton for lunch. There were over 16 very steep steps to go up to the restaurant. I did it!!! No wheelchair or scooter!! It was a beautiful drive and we both enjoyed this day so much. It sure beats when my world was the lift chair and a window looking at the back yard. I like it!! This is one happy and thankful girl!!!

Thanks for being an example for me! I've had a set back these past few months and feel like it's a long way back to finding my strength again...

I am so very proud of you! And I wouldn't have been able to do all those steps last year either! I would have just told everyone to go without me... my clothes didn't fit right, I hated getting in and out of booths at restaurants, etc.

Look at you now, sister! Out kicking up the dust in the summer. YAY for you!

Love and hugs, Ang
