Help!

Monday, June 25, 2012

So I started my plan last Thanksgiving and by Valentines Day I was falling apart. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've gained and lost the same thirty pounds. Now I'm calling in the Calvary. Headed back to Weight Watchers and I've found a training program that I think is going to give me the jump start I need. I can't wait to get this right!

Enough!

Saturday, November 19, 2011

I know we're heading into the holiday season when most folks are ready to thrown in the towel on weight loss efforts until the New Year...but my clothes already don't fit, so I can't afford the exra 8-12 pounds that is absolutely possible with holiday gluttony. The name of the game is plan, plan, plan and eat in isolation if I have to. I need to be able to fit into my clothes! And, I've got a 1/2 marathon in early April that requires several weeks of training if I'm going to have any hope of finishing it. And, let's face it, no matter how much we bemoan how size conscious Americans have become, the truth of the matter is, you feel better, look better and move better when you're at your ideal weight. So, here's to WW goal weight in 2012. I've never done it before but by jove...I gotta make this happen and at the very least get my blood pressure down. :)

The Body is a Splendid Thing!

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

So, with eight weeks to go before a major event and numerous media tapings I'm diving back into eating right...and you wan to know the amazing thing about eating the right foods? My body is aching for activity! I mean now that I'm not feeling nearly as sluggish as I'd been for the last several months I am ready to tackle fitness! Amazing how that works. Start with food...once you're not comatose with fried food you'll have ants in your pants.

The Key to Getting Back on the Wagon

Sunday, July 10, 2011

I've been moping all day but it occurs to me that I can't take the next step with this until I forgive myself and make a plan for food this week. I've got to give up this pity party and do something to move the needle. Lay out my workout clothes for the week. Pack a work out bag. Make a menu based on a strict food list. Prepare some foods this evening. Pray. Write. Move. Weigh myself. If I hadn't been avoiding the scale for so long I'd have known how far off track I was and been more vigilant. Don't hide. What you get on the other side is usually alot worse.

  Hey there,
You and I kind of sound like we are in the same boat right now! Best I can say, and what I am saying to myself is-don't give up! Keep trying. Fall, get back up, repeat. In time, those falls should become less and the successes, more!
Keep on keeping on!

Your words of encourage are much needed. Thank you sooo much. I didn't take my lunch to work today but I am counting my WW points and it's easy to see how I've slipped off. Things I've been eating on the run are a lot heavier in caloric value than I thought. But I'm writing and being accountable...because I can't take the yo yo anymore.

It's easy for us to give up and pity. It's hard to get back on the wagon and move forward, but you ARE strong and can handle it. I know you can!!

So, dust off your work-out clothes, make a menu, and go press play!!!! You can do it!!!!!
