Hey,

So yesterday I went to bootcamp (3rd class), I can really see my fitness level is improving and so canthe trainers. From going there yesterday I can understand why I was advised by other spark members to have rest days inbetween, because I was still feeling the previous booycamp 2 days prior loool.
So I am implementing the rest days but what I will do is use my crosstrainer on the rest days if I feel like I have the energy or urge to do so for about 15 mins or so.

I have to invest in some weights so I can incorporate that, but so far so good on the execrsise front.

In terms of food I'm not overindulging but I am not always choosing the right food.
There is progress to be made but its happening in baby steps.

Danielle

cross training might be a bit strenuous, try some stretching and walking. We have to be careful about "every little helps" in case we are eating horsemeat!!

Introduction

Sunday, January 13, 2013

So this is going to be an introduction to my schedule, my future progress, and to date stats.

Well to introduce myself, my name is Danielle, i'm 22 and i live in Essex. I have a son who is now 8 months old so i work around him, and i have recently entered myself into a 5 mile marathon to push myself to get fit (because i don't want to look like an idiot lol).

I am one of those people who tries all kinds of diet and always trying to lose weight, yet always gives up. I looove my food, so i cave in to eat what i want quickly lol. I am also lazy (if I'm honest lol) so doing exercise requires a huge amount of effort.

Before my son was born i was a regular gym member, i have also been to Slimming world, done a week on the Insanity programme. However this year i joined a bootcamp to which i go twice a week for an hour, its high interval training like Insanity, so far i've been to two classes and i have another one tomorrow.

I have planned my workouts as the following (which will be active as of tomorrow lool);
Monday: bootcamp
Tuesday: Insanity dvd and crosstrainer
Wednesday: Slim in 6 dvd and crosstrainer
Thursday: Insanity and crosstrainer/jog
Friday: Jog and crosstrainer
Saturday: bootcamp and jog
Sunday: reeeeessssst

Now the plan is great its just sticking to it, which is why i wanted a motivational buddy. The bootcamps will happen its just the home ones i worry about.

Wish me luck :)

Just to clarify, 5 miles is not a marathon. :) A marathon is actually 26.2 miles! Not where a beginner wants to start out. :) Are you talking about a 5k? That's 5 kilometers, not miles.. it's actually 3.1 miles! That's a very good beginning goal!

I would also recommend not running on consecutive days. Particularly when you're starting out, you need to have a day between runs to allow your muscles and skeletal system to recover and heal. I'd suggest checking out a good Couch to 5k training program.

Remember, this isn't all or nothing... too much can be just as damaging as too little! You have a lot of very intense workouts on your schedule, and no strength training. I would strongly suggest you post your routine/schedule on the fitness forum for advice on finding balance!
