i'm not doing well with logging everything, every day, but i'm paying attention. working out and watching our diets. our lives are so busy and i need to start using the spark app on my phone more consistently. i wish i could access the blogs from it. but we are both working out at the gym consistently.
weighed in today and i hit the 15lb mark which means that i'm totally ecstatic!

So here we are, the first Monday back to work of the new year. Fortunately, we had already started going to the gym while the kids were on winter break---because adding school transportation to the morning routine can be a challenge. But challenges aren't nuffin if we don't try to face them and stick out our tongues. So I got up a bit earlier, helped take care of the animals and raced to the gym. What?!?!?!?! my watch hates me. So, I had to cut back on the workout to 20 minutes so that I could manage a shower before running back home and taking Nollie to school. [because of course, it was too late to get him to the bus stop.] *
All is well, though. I try to focus on getting a 'good' workout in the time frame that I have as opposed to just doing time in the gym. At intervals, I would increase my speed and I always keep a minimal of a 3 incline. [I noticed that it has to be at a 3 incline in order for the cardio to trigger on the machine]. Just over a mile in under 20 minutes. Not bad for the chick that had the machine tell me that I was "well below average" on the fitness test 2 weeks ago.
Everyone made it to school or work without any loss of life or limb. But we are well on our way to loss of weight.
I hope that your Monday, no matter how hectic the schedules may be, turn into pleasant moments of rewarding conquest.

I didn't feel very good on new year's eve, but I had to get up and go to work, anyways. After all, calling in on a holiday when I volunteered, would not go over well. So I went into work, but I didn't go to the gym.
I felt better on New Year's so I got off of my butt and did 2 miles on the treadmill. The best way to mark progress is to know where you are going based on where you started. Thus, I've taken my measurements and I guess, I have been extremely blind. I knew I was getting bigger....but I didn't realize I am as big as I am....thin glasses, perhaps?
This is a hard pill to stomache....thus we start.

after last week, it was a bit hard without knowing my actual weight. so today, i was a bit nervous. i'm down by a grand total of 5.8lbs in 3 weeks.
i'm not going to lie...i wish it was at least another pound. then i have to cock my head and look at it from another view point. ===these three weeks has been during the holiday season with potluck after potluck at work; as well as a ton of cookies and candies that have been brought into clinic by well meaning patients. really, not only did i lose 5.8lbs this past holiday, but i managed to not gain during the season of temptations! that is my december success. 0 weight increase plus an initial start to losing.
i'm crashing early, since i'm still sore from yesterday's work out. [2 sessions on the treadmill for a total of 2.75 miles] and tomorrow is an extra early morning so that i can work out before work.

ok so instead of being discouraged by last week's odd place weigh-in with different clothing---we decided to try a few new things.
the topic at last week's meeting was to either try a new fruit or vegetable, or try one that we know fixed differently. taking this to heart, i'll blog about some new foody adventures later.
but we joined the local ymca. omg, doing the treadmill for the first time in almost 3 years, was a real eye opener. but doing the fitness test on the bike, kicked my butt and had the nerve to tell me [repeatedly] "well below average". ok, i get it, but did it really have to continue pointing it out to me?
so, my current promise to myself is to go to the gym at a min. of 2X/week. i'd actually like to go at 5:30 on monday, wed., and fridays---but my promise, is atleast twice.
so, i'm still down to half my normal mt. dew intake while at work & none at night. on the weekends, i try to have no more than 1 in a day.
trying out these ww points plus program and working on minimizing the points in my recipes without sacrificing flavor or starving to death.
life is good. i sure hope that the scales will start to show a positive difference!
