I'm back and it's over, Jan. 7th finally!

Friday, March 01, 2013

Hi friends, I needed to drop out/ step back and get a fresh view of what my life can now be like. It is amazingly calm, Praise the Lord, I quit doing anything that caused me any stress and am slowly beginning to get back on track. I met a sweet lady/Shirley at the fitness center, well she has been such a good friend to me helping me get through the divorce without feeling like a complete loser. We went on a day bus trip to the American Mountain Theater in Elkins, WV. It was so much fun! Check it out on www. American Mountain Theater.com it is a lot like Branson, MO. We have a day shopping trip planned the last week in March to Kingsport, TN. Just to let you know my ex-husband acts as though he is very satisfied now that its over. PTL

Glad you found your place of serenity. I too am struggling with boundaries due to an ill and unstable husband. At some point we have to take care of ourselves first and reach out for help.

I am glad you are back. And there is life after divorce. It is about 20 years give or take some that I have been divorced, and I feel good about my life!

I feel much safer now. . . thank you for prayers.

I finally talked my soon to be ex-husband into getting a nice apartment and moving out. I showed him the legal form that he received that granted me use of the home.

I was afraid I would have to have the law remove him from my home. I warned him if they do, and he fights it they may just put him back in the mental institution. He'll do anything to avoid that . . .except take the medication they prescribe.

My children and I helped him get moved, set up his kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms.
Maybe he'll be happy now, I hope so. May God bless us all. emoticon Rita

Oh, Rita, I did not realize what you were going through. I am heading into the one year anniversary of my husbands mental breakdown and the arrival of the swat team. He still blames me for that one, but several people at the store called the police he was so out of control. I don't know your whole story, but will go through your blogs. I know how heart breaking it is to lose a good man to brain injuries or disorders, but our health and safety needs to take precedent.

It is sad when someone really needs to take medication, but doesn't. It messes up their entire life. I am glad you managed to get him to move without a big hassle!

I can't believe I didn't want go to the dance last night.

Sunday, September 16, 2012

I have looked forward to it for a month. I would have gotten lots of exercise.
These pills for my nerves make me not care about anything but eating and sleeping. I am now 4.5 lbs above my goal. This morning while getting ready for church I decided to quit the meds and let GOD take care of the tough stuff.
I need to get out of this house and concentrate on my exercise and health. I have 2 weeks to get myself with-in my weight limit, but I'm going to do it, or know I gave it my all !!! Thanks for listening. Hugs, Rita

I agree with all the others, it could really affect you
in a very bad way, to go off your pills, without
calling your doctor. Some pills, you have to be
weaned off them. Depending on the medication
you are taking, it may be more important at
this time to me on them. Later, you may
feel better and get back to dancing.

There are some medications that you aren't supposed to quit cold turkey. Please let your doctor know that you don't feel those meds are right for you.

RITA PLEASE TELL YOUR DR WOU WANT TO QUIT THE MEDS MAYBE THERE IS SOMETHING THAT WILL NOT MAKE YOU GAIN WEIGHT, I DO KNOW HOW YOU ARE FEELING THOUGH, TRUEST ME YOU KNOW I KNOW WHAT KOPS IS ABOUT, ALSO GET A MEDICAL EXCUSE PRONTO TALK TO YOUR AREA CAPTAIN, YOU WILL NOT LOSE YOUR KOPS I DON'T THINK IF MEDICATION IS MAKING YOU GAIN BUT YOU HAVE TO GET IT IN BEFORE YOU LOSE STATUS. WHEN IS YOUR NEXT WEIGH IN?

Hi Rita, i'm really sorry you missed the dance, but I also understand you want to feel better. But the pills that your taking you can't just stop. You should call your doctor on Monday and he can wenn you off them. Theses are not something you can just stop this could hurt you more. Good luck hope you feel better soon and hope you had a good service at church. God Bless you and praying for you. SP friend emoticon emoticon

My KOPS status is in jeopardy now. . .

Thursday, September 13, 2012

This evening at our TOPS meeting weigh-ins I have gained 1.75 lbs which put me over my 3 lb above goal limit. Every time I take a Rx for depression they cause me to sleep more and to gain weight and I get so discouraged. My divorce hearing is in 2 weeks, I'm hoping once I get my house emptied of all his things I can relax and quit taking the Rx. My doctor said I'd probably be fine when I didn't have this daily coping with everything. Thank heavens he will be moving to another town about 40 miles from here. I need prayers for strength to get this weight off and to keep my sanity too.

Your page says that dancing helps you feel better in the winter months. Is there any kind of dancing or activity that you could do now? Even just a 5 minute boogie to a beloved song might help a little.

P.S. SparkPeople's cardio videos can be fun (coach Nicole is so sweet and encouraging),
and YouTube has some fun ones (I even tried Zumba one day. It was a hoot!)

don't fret too much about it I know form experience with depression that the more you focus on it and stress of it the worse it gets. You have a lot going on right now so just focus on getting through the immediate and try to stay on track as best you can and then pick yourself up and move forward from there!!

I finally called the doctor

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

This morning was the 2nd day this week that I shut the alarm off and went back to sleep. You see, that's what I do when I'm depressed and don't want to be around people, don't want to leave the house. . . so I might as well stay in bed and cry "right"? Well, no that's not normal. My doctor made me promise I'd call him for a Rx before it got out of control. Today I called his nurse Dena and they sent a prescription to my pharmacist. Dena was so glad I didn't wait any longer. I started my meds today. . .

It's hard to can foods from the garden when you feel like your strength is sapped. I can't let the food spoil. Dear God give me strength.

You did the right thing in calling your Doctor before the depression got any worse. I suffer from it too and take meds for it plus I use light therapy. Good luck with canning the food and I wish and pray you strength. Lucinda
