4/30/2013 Week two of the other diet

I admit I succumbed to the hype about one of the big diet centers weight loss programs. 40th Anniversary, these people lost a bunch of weight....ahh!! {insert fan fare here} That wasn't the only thing they lost. They lost a small fortune! $96 to find out how much everything else was and I discovered quickly I can't afford to lose weight through them. The welcome kit they sent me included a blister pack of horrible chewables that I was supposed to consume 2 of them 4 times a day. Another pill I was supposed to take 3 or 4 times a day, and then two more once a day. With my allergies and migraines, I was taking 20+ pills a day. NO THANK YOU!! I cannot fathom how that is going to increase my health. Then, the meal supplement bars and shakes were outrageously expensive, and not all that tasty. I did like the peanut butter and jelly one but the smores one was awful; I threw it away. I decided that I was going to do this the right way. I used sparkpeople.com three years ago and I lost 45 pounds. Unfortunately, I injured my knee midway through the journey and gave up. I now have that 45 to lose again plus more. However, I know I am not on this journey alone. I have millions of others that are needing to lose weight. I have the support of my husband, who needs to shed a couple, as well. I have Our God, The Father, to guide me spiritually, and I did not have that the last time. While I was a Christian, I had strayed from the church. I know that I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me because Philippians 4:13 says so.

The other plan wasn't a total wash. I did lose 6 pounds in two weeks. It's a wonderful start.

    My guess is all the bars and the pills caused you to drink a lot of water which is the main goal of any weight loss program. Just start walking - you'll notice it after a few weeks if you do it every day. I have days where I just walk to the beat of the music on my ipod and others where I just stroll and listen to the outdoors. Sometimes, I try and beat my time/distance, others I just enjoy the stroll and am in no hurry. I noticed a big change in my tummy and calves.
What was the other plan you lost 6 pounds on? Good job!
