Hey Hey Hey Bye Bye -16Lbs

I went to the doctor on Tuesday. I knew I had lost some weight because I could feel it when I did activities. However when the scale showed that I had lost 16Lbs in one month. It was like wow I did that. The thing was that I was human about eating. I did not deprive myself of foods; I ate some chocolate and ate at a fastfood restaurant. Not everyday but when the urge was too much I indulged responsibly. I knew when to say when, and that comes from listening to what my body is trying to tell me. My one year anniversary date for becoming a member of sparkpeople is coming up in late summer. I started off at 485lbs. Now I am down to 403lbs. I know that I can reach that 100lbs milestone in one year. Na Na Na, Na Na Na. Hey Hey, Good Bye to 16lbs. You will not be missed.

Hello everyone. I am not sure if I shared this before but I am a student going for my bachelor's degree in business. This past week I was reading a book about Disney Inc. and their approach and success in the business world. One thing stuck out was that they encourage Openness among all of their employees. I started wondering if I have been as open I as could be about things in my life with the people close to me. Openness about my struggles, success, feelings, and basically everything about my life. I have also related this to my personal connection with God and Jesus Christ. If I cannot be fully open about less obvious issues in my life how can I be truly open to God. If I cannot be fully open with my weight issues how can I expect to lose weight.
I encourage all of you to be fully open about your weight issues, whether they are obvious to people in your life or not. If you are not open with the people who you surround yourself with, how can you be truly open with yourself about what you are going through. It does not have to be weight related. It can be anything that you are afraid to expose about yourself. However, once you set yourself free from what you are holding in you can focus on your weight and be in a better position to handle other issues that come into your life.



Busy Busy

Hello all and Happy Easter. I have been soo busy these past weeks I have been unable to even logon. However, being busy is good for my eating habits. I learning more to trust my body to tell me when to give it fuel in form of healthy food. The downside is finding time to walk regularly, although I have been just going up and down the bottom step at home to help me wake up in the morning for about five to ten minutes. Just enough to get an increase in my heart rate while still being able to stand and walk away when I am awake. I purchased a couple pair of shorts two weeks ago and had to exchange them for one size smaller because I bought my passed size. I think I was more happy than the clerk because there was a price difference between sizes. One tip I would like to share for chocolate and mint lovers. Junior Mints individual packages are a great way to satisfy that craving without too much harm. Purchase the big bag with the individual boxes. One box is 75 cal and about 15 carbs and less than 2g of fat. Just be careful not to eat the entire bag. Good luck everyone and Happy Easter.


Bad start to day

I woke up this morning not feeling very well. I did not go to church, and just spent the entire morning taking it easy. Hopefully the rest will do me good. Probably will not exercise much today do not feel like eating, I hope this is not a serious set back with my current health problems.

Member for short time

I have been a member for only a short time now, maybe two weeks. Every time I check my e-mail I receive loads of information on every topic that is involved with improving your health. I think this is so great, although I have not had a chance to read all the information what little I have read has giving me so much information to learn from. I have been telling every person that is interested about this great site. Although I have not had a chance to experience all the services this site offers, what little I have experienced I cannot say enough good things about this site. I have told my family physician about this site during my last visit and she that it was great also, especially seeing how passionate I am about this site and the support received from fellow members. She said she will definitly inform some of her patients with health issues about this site and all the benefits that come with it.
