trying again

Monday, January 13, 2014

went off the wagon for almost 2 months, gained 20 lbs, I let my emotions dictate what I eat and often it spirals very fast, I hired a personal trainer and work out with her twice a week, I prepaid so I wouldn't miss any session, I also post my food on spark people, I'm eating clean and taking baby steps, I no longer drink diet soda, and have made a real dent in not having any extra sugar, I lost 7.8 pounds in one week and it scares me because in the past when I have succeeded, I have let myself fail. messed up, I know, but am really working on staying healthy and accountable

this is my 5th week of exercising consistently, 5 days a week, I feel more energetic, but I still haven't lost much weight, need to get eating and exercising on the same page, having a hard time with that

for me, eating healthy wholesome food that I love and tracking everything keeps me grounded.

Over Christmas I had not tracked for over a month, nor exercised at all, I had meals out and seasonal luxury food and drinks, yet my weight remained constant.

It sounds to me like you may be depriving yourself of your favourite foods. Do you feel that you are? You can eat everything, in moderation, as long as you track it and stay within your calorie range.

doing better

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

I am more in control of my feelings and find that exercise really helps my mood and it also helps me to make better food choices, after I've worked out really hard, I think twice about what i'm going to feed myself because I don't want to have "wasted" that time, dallas.

I let my feelings interfere with my journey, I want to lose weight yesterday and when it doesn't happen that way, I make sure it doesn't happen by eating the wrong things, not exercising etc., crazy huh

I will be on vacation next week, and I so don't want to come back having regained all the weight I've lost, not much but I don't want to see it again, I have to exercise moderation in the eating, and also push myself to move more, have to do it, dallas

Been there done that. I still do in once in a while. Just pick yourself up and keep on trying. I still am not losing much but will not give up entirely. You can do it.

Muscle strain shows as weight gain, especially the following day. If you take a two day break, measure the second day. Your body will need those days to recalculate. Think of it as hiring an accountant....your body needs time to get you all of the numbers. Eat healthy, build muscle for 2 or 3 days, walk the next few... muscle Burns 6cal daily at rest, before exercising. To feel more encouraged, look up your BMR. That's how many calories your body Burns DAILY before exercise (is upped an extra 100-300 depending on activity level) and the recommended. Amount you should consume...however go ahead an subtract 200-400 and that's the absolute bare minimum you. Should do. Don't be discouraged just up the exercises for the day to re-encourage yourself

after hearing the spark coach today I realized that yes I want to lose 50 lbs, but what I want to be really is to be healthy and strong and have stamina and I know that even though I am 66, can feel that way, also I promised my 8 year old granddaughter that I would take her to paris when she became 18, I want to dothat with her with bells on

True, healthy is better than skinny. We are taking our daughters to Europe - Spain and Ireland next Spring for graduation from college and I would love to be at my goal or close to it by then. I am down 20 since late December and I have 45 to go - so I have until next April to get there and maintain it - should be doable. Paris is a beautiful city and even though it is a ways off, a great goal to set with your granddaughter!
