Walking the Dog

I've been doing some heavy duty plateau bustin' exercises lately so I think I'll take it easy this morning. As soon as it gets light I think I'll take my golden, Bucky for a walk thru the park. Near the house we have a greenway with beautiful trees and natural grasses that runs about 1 mile next to a stream. When I take a morning walk there I always feel calm and happy. My 2 year old dog just runs along with his tail wagging happy and excited about every new sight, sound and smell. I can't help smiling when I look at him. Everyone I meet seems happy and friendly and if they have a dog with them I can be sure of a pleasant conversation as our 2 four legged friends get to know one another. It really is worth waking up a little early for a morning walk before work. Thank God for nature.

    How smart you are to think ahead. I think that is one of the key things we must do to be successful. You planned your strategy and stuck to it. AND you had a great time and didn't feel like you would be left out if you didn't eat and drink. I think you are amazing. emoticon emoticon emoticon

ok....nope changed my mind. My daughter and her dog lived with us for a year and I cleaned up more than my share of doodoo. Hey, none of it was my share! Actually I love dogs but am not in a place where I want the responsibility of one full time.

It sounds like your morning will be a blessing to you and others. And congrats on all that plateau bustin exercise. I am sure it will pay off. emoticon

Gone are the Days

Yesterday was a good day. I did my Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred level 1 before I went to work. Went to lunch with a friend I hadn't seen for a while. I pulled up the restaurant menu on the internet before I went and picked my meal ahead of time. Why don't I do that more often? I had a healthful supper with my DH who tried a SP recipe for pork with apple juice. It was ok. We went downstairs and did some cleaning in the basement guest room so we can move some of the old furniture out of it before our new furniture arrives. We took down the drapes and made an appointment to get the carpet cleaned too. Then I came upstairs and did a walking video from exercise TV. Gone are the days of sitting in front of the TV exhausted when I get home from work.

Quiet and Good Life

I lost another pound yesterday. That feels good. I feel good. Life is quiet right now. My DH and I went to a tile store yesterday to look at tile to redo our 3 bathrooms that have been carpeted since we built the house 11 years ago. I am looking forward to getting that done. My DD starts her new job Aug 31st. She is taking next week off for some R&R and to get her girls started on a new school year. I can't believe its that time of year already. Life is quiet and good.

Plateau Busted

I was down 2 pounds this am! The plateau busting worked AND I found I enjoyed the extra exercising. Wow, what a concept. Exercise can be fun. I am also not as hungry as I used to be when I was eating all the time. I don't know if that's because I am eating more healthful calories (not raising my Blood Sugar as much) or because I am breaking the habit of eating all the time. Either way, I am happy. I thank all my Spark Buddies for their support and suggestions with my plateau busting. Now, just 4 pounds to go till my annual physical on Sep 9.

Plateau Buster - Lessons and Revisions

I am really happy with all the support I received after posting my Plateau blog. I am on the 4th day and have learned some lessons and have some revisions.

1. Jillian Michael's videos are great, BUT I am 62 years old and have had 2 back surgeries including a spinal fusion. I cannot do Jumping jacks and other moves that take both my feet off the ground at the same time. I have had 2 days of back pain after doing that ...SO I am going to revise the moves I can't do and do the exercises to the best of my ability.

2. ok as is

3. Change my strength workouts to 30 minutes instead of 15.

4. Eat between 1400 to 1500 calories a day, not above 1700

5. Remains the same.

I am feeling great and can't wait to weigh in the am.

    Good for you: "do we call it compromise or do we call it getting wise?" That's a line from a song of which I can never remember anything else, but love that lyric anyhow (especially as I get older!!)
