I've been really excited to be able to get out and walk the dog in daylight at 6 am for the last few mornings. I've even been jogging for 30 - 60 sec intervals and walking 2 - 4 min to rest. I really didn't believe I could ever jog, but I did. I did feel a little down however when I realized that daylight savings is coming and I wont be able to walk at 6 am for a while : (
Yesterday was one of my hungry days. I just felt out of sorts and hungry all day. I didn't want to be at work. I had gotten used to being at home from last week when I was home with DH after his surgery and work just seemed intolerable. I was like a pouty child. I didn't drink enough water, I ate cookies, I ate large portions....I bet you know the things I did.
Well, yesterday's passed. Today is here and today is back to normal. I don't know why I still do that every so often, but the frequency is definitely less than it used to be and the recovery takes less time than it used to. My lifestyle now is a healthful one and I choose to move on.
After watching the Olympics, our DGDs, ages 11 and 13, asked us if we would take them skiing. Well, of course!
Since my DH broke his wrist ice skating a week ago our DS has agreed to take a day off work and go skiing with us so I have another adult on the slope. We are going to take them up for a day of lessons and then go up another day to ski.
I also thought about ice skating. Our local ice skating rink closes for the season on Sun 3/14 and has an ice cream and ice skating party that day. One of my friends has agreed to come with us and skate with the girls.
I feel really badly that DH will have to watch instead of participate but I know he will enjoy just being with the girls.
We will probably go up to the cabin at least one night during the visit.
I've been having a great weekend meeting up with old friends, exercising, shopping and planning for the DGD's visit next week. Today we're going to look at more carpet ... we need to replace all the carpet on our main level. Then I'm going to read and plan all day. If it gets nicer, I may take a bike ride. It was really nice yesterday so I should've done it then but I went on a 2 mile walk with DH cause he really hasn't done any physical activity since he broke his wrist last week. We really did enjoy the walk.

We couldn't go to the cabin again this weekend, because DH's MD said we had to stay nearby in case of post op complications after his wrist surgery. So I had another taste of what retirement will be like and I love it.
I went Spinning for 45 min at 6 am
after walking around the track for 20 min
and doing 10 min of strength training
Then DH and I had to visit periodontist
that took 2 hours.
I met a friend for lunch at a neat whole foods restaurant and had a fabulous meal.
Talked with another friend who was eating there!
DH and I went shopping. I had to take DH to the hardware store since he can't drive and I bought some new size 16 clothes.
After sparking for a while
I curled up in my recliner and started reading Stephen King's new book Under the Dome.
DH and I made supper together and now I'm Sparking again!
