So maybe I should travel more often!
Today I unofficially weighed myself (my official weigh-in days are Mondays) and to my surprise I weigh 235.3 lbs. YES I'M CHANGING MY TICKER!
Before I left my unofficial weigh in was 242 lbs. and my official weigh in from Monday 7/2 was 238.5 lbs.....so I've lost 6.7lbs. since the unofficial weigh in and 3.2lbs. since my last official weigh in...WOW! I am so pumped.
Plus, I'm wearing my hot pink Memphis XL t-shirt that I bought as a souvenir from the airport that I didn't expect to be wearing until later this summer!
Ain't GOD good!!!!!

2,315 Calories Eaten (Guessed High on Portions and Nutrition Info)
11+ Glasses of Water
60 Mins. of Cardio
690+ Calories Burned
I MADE IT!!!!
Ain't GOD good! (Declaration not a question)
This has been a very educational week. The class that I attended was so informative and I learned some good information that can be immediately applied at work...Yay!
Then I've learned that I'm better at meal planning and counting calories then I thought. Tonight I went to J. Alexander's with two colleagues. I had a Caesar Salad, Prime Rib and the NYO Macoroni and Cheese. This meal could've really blown my caloric intake range out of the water...but I didn't let it. First of all, I carefully monitored my intake during the other meal times of the day. Second, I split my salad 3-ways, and did the same with the "Not Your Ordinary" Mac n' Cheese. Before taking the first bite of my steak, I cut it in half and moved it to the other side of my plate....oh and how could I forget my water assistance. I had finished my 8th glass of water as we were driving to the restaurant. This allowed me to take my time, enjoy my food and stop eating when I was SATISFIED and not STUFFED. Yay!
Although this has been a good trip, I am thankful that tomorrow, I'll be returning to Home Sweet Home. Oddly enough, I believe that I've lost some lbs. or inches or something this week, so I want to do an unofficial weigh-in (Reason #170 why I joined the Scaleaholics Anonymous Team). Plus, I can't wait to get to spin Class....HELLO SPINNING HERE I COME!!! Woo-Hoo!

2,775 Calories Eaten (Guessed High on Portions and Nutrition Info)
10+ Glasses of Water
60 Mins. of Cardio
700+ Calories Burned
Okay, so maybe my choices today weren't all that smart, but I'm not going to beat myself up. I've been working hard and although I typically do not reward myself with food, I was satisfied with my meal selections for the day...oh that Grilled Pork Chop from Guinesses (sp?) was so good!
I believe that I actually got in more than 8 glasses of water today, but I don't know the exact amount, so I'm guessing 8 to be on the safe side. Plus, since I've been averaging 12 glasses of water a day, I have had absolutely NO issues w/ retaining water today...paid the water bill constantly!!! [Note: I did get the extra 2 Glasses in after my Beyonce/Janet Workout]
I enjoyed touring Beale Street w/ my classmates; however, we got back too late and the fitness center was closed. I AM SUPER SLEEPY, but before I go to bed I WILL GET 60 mins. of "Creative" Cardio in. I've got my iPod and I've got my feet, so 60 mins of me alternating impersonations of Beyonce and Janet performing live in concert. This will be a good workout and I will more than likely get 2 more cups of water in for the day. [DONE}
One definite good outcome from the day is that I had the opportunity to tell one of my classmates about SPARK. She is a beautiful person and has been making some huge lifestyle changes across several aspects of her life. I know this will be a good place for her to find the encouragement and support that will help keep her motivated.

2,009 Calories Eaten
12+ Glasses of Water
120+ Mins. of Cardio
1,700+ Calories Burned
Whew! I successfully made it through Day 2 although I was surrounded by Chips and Cookies and Brownies...OH MY!
I was also able to hit my cardio target for the day, but oh how I miss my Tuesday Night Spin Class. I don't know which is more addictive shoes, costume jewelry or spinning.
Well tomorrow everyone wants to do a group dinner and since we're in Memphis that means the restaurant of choice will feature Bar-B-Q. So, I WILL BE making smart choices during breakfast and lunch so that I won't be "spazzing" at dinner.

I've often heard people say that if you take one step God will take two. A fellow Sparker even dropped me a note explaining how God will also take two steps as we're making lifestyle changes. Well, today I lost count of how many steps He took. God took my plans and blessed them in ways that blew me away.
First of all, my Pastor's message today was so on point. He was talking about sometimes God says "No". When He says no, it's either because He has a BIGGER PERSPECTIVE on the situation or He has a BETTER PLAN for us. Since joining Spark, I can see how that is so true. If I had not spent the majority of my life being full-figured, I wouldn't be the determined person that I am today. Even at my heaviest, I knew I could do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I also wouldn't be able to encourage others with such conviction and passion, because I've been there and I know how it feels. (I still cringe when I think about the seat that I broke in one of the auditorioums in college and the big production that was made to FIND a seat that could HOLD me!) During service, I began to think about and pray for one Sparker in particular who I've been chatting w/ via email...I so deeply feel her pain, because I have been where she is...and feel so priveleged knowing that she trusts me and that I am able to share with her what I KNOW, not just what I read or heard.
Second, when I got to the airport I was surrounded by all kinds of temptations, but instead of giving in...I started sipping my water. Every time I was tempted to get something sweet, salty and greasy I took a sip. Before I knew it I had consumed32 oz. of water...no room for anything else. Then I ran into my one of my favorite "Sands"~ we pledged together. God had ordained us to be on the same flight. She went on and on about how good I look and how proud she was of me and that she had heard about how hard I've been working and it shows! WOW, hearing that from her meant more to me than all of the Snickers and Doritos in the world!
Third, I was blown away by the "features" at the hotel. Although I went online to check things out, the room descriptions were generalized for their chain. So, I was completely amazed when I got to my room and found my own refrigerator and microwave...I had stepped out on faith and packed some of my healthy snacks...Bless GOD! Then not only do they have a pool and a complete fitness center, but they are both near my room (did 120 mins of intense Cardio tonight)! And there is even an Applebee's within walking distance.
Last but not least, the internet connection works just fine. Although it's late I decided to pop online to update all of my trackers...then to my surprise, I learned that I've been recognized for THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JULY as the Warrior of the Month by my good friends on the Scaleaholic Anonymous Team...WOW!
"But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it." I Cor. 10:13 (NLT)
