I want to share a little about my oldest daughter,Megan. Megan is 35 years old and has several health conditions. Among them are polycystic ovarian syndrome, heart murmur, migraines, an irregular heart beat, curvature of her spine (kifosis sp.?)and what else only God knows. She has has health issues since birth in some form or another. God has brought her through so much and as her mother it breaks my heart to know she has to handle so much. She has been on major new heart meds. since 17 - 24 and then has had multiple procedures to help her health conditions. Megan has been married to Nick for almost 14 years. They desperately want a baby and have tried so many procedures to help this desire. Megan did get pregnant and carried Garrick for about 26 weeks, but she delivered him on August 30, 2001. She was due January 28th. She had preclampsia and lived about 80 miles across the desert of Nevada from the nearest trauma center in Reno. Garrick was born breathing, but not for long. He was too small and too early to live. My hubby and I had moved to KY in June 2001 right before Megan went into premature labor. After Garrick's birth Megan refused to talk about him or even acknowledge that she has been pregnant at all. A couple of years later Megan and Nick moved to be by us in KY. too. They settled into there new jobs and church and began to rebuild their lives, They tried several more treatments and none were successful. They have signed up to try the foster to adopt approach this last year. They completed the paperwork and the classes.
As the years went by my younger two children married and had two children. Neither of them experienced the kind of issues with fertility that their sister did. Megan is a great auntie and loves her nephews and nieces unconditionally. She truly spoils all of them since she has so much love to give.
Now God has moved hubby and I to another country and we now see our children via Skype each week. I have been praying for Megan and Nick for so many years and helped so much already though they never asked for me to. Recently, I started researching IVF and talking to Megan about it. One of the top facilities is in Nashville not far from where we used to live and just under two hours for them to travel. Last month I brought up the option of trying for IVF before adoption. Amazingly, that is less expensive than adoption. Well, this Friday is their first consultation appointment to see if they are even good candidates.
I am asking for my SP friends that are prayer warriors to put Megan on their prayer lists. I know that God is powerful and He hears his people praying and He answers prayers. I know what the desire of my heart is. I pray that we can accept God's will for their lives whatever that is, and we will accept His guidance as we walk together through this time in their lives.
I praise God that he has given me a great job and that I am able to help them. It is all because of God that I live, breathe and serve Him and others.
