I'll be MIA for awhile

Hey all. I have found two of my biggest weaknesses that effect everything else I do - not enough sleep and getting stuck on screens. So, I'm widdling down my screen time A LOT! Unfortunately, that means not as much time on Sparkpeople. I will still track food and working out and read my emails but thats about it. Once I feel I have some control in these areas and start seeing progress I'll come back and say hey to everyone. I'm keeping a daily 'blog' in a notebook. It feels nice to write with a pen. On paper. Day 17 - 21 - A little setback

Well I never even made it onto Sparkpeople these 5 days. Between the holiday, son coming home, and hormones knocking me on my butt for a few days, it just didn't happen. But today is a new day. We're celebrating the youngest's birthday today by spending the entire day at a water park. I'll have a lot of Vitamin D therapy - good for the soul. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Day 16 - Healthy Weight Management Class

Today I went to a Healthy Weight Management Class on base. It was pretty much a 101 type of class. I knew a lot of the information but there were a few ideas that I really liked. The RD gave a very basic meal plan. It didn't list any specific foods. It gave servings under different food groups to have for each meal plus 2 snacks and then a bunch of examples on what qualifies as a serving.

I was going to try the SparkPeople Menu. It lasted for a couple of days. Our life is just to crazy for something so specific to work. Last night I made today's menu to the 'T' for me so I knew exactly what I was going to be eating. It has worked GREAT! Now I have a little cheat sheet on making those specific meal plans.

Day 15 - Getting 'Caught Up'

I am so excited. I used Saturday to get caught up on cleaning. Sunday was my day of rest. Today I got caught up on my to do list and made my menu for tomorrow. Tomorrow I will get caught up on 'food' category - cleaning out some of the garden, cleaning out the frig, putting together a week menu and making a grocery list for grocery shopping on Wednesday. Not being 'caught up' on these things does not mean that everything is completely and perfectly done. They are to the point where my daily routines and do lists help me to stay caught up. When I get behind on cleaning and 'food' category, the first thing I let slip are my healthy habits I'm trying to make. Guess they're not quite habits yet. BUT, I am ready to go. Once hubby is home, we'll have dinner and family night - put the youngest to bed and I'm off to the gym. It'll also be the first night in many that I'll be able to go to bed at a decent time :) emoticon emoticon

Day 14 - Day of Rest

Sunday I went to church, rested, and we had friends over for dinner. My wonderful hubby always makes homemade whole wheat waffles on Sunday nights :) It was a nice break. I always need my Sunday to battle another week. Church feeds my soul and the relaxing feeds my body. Mondays I always feel strong and ready to conquer anything. emoticon
