Here I am!

Monday, October 19, 2009

Well...here I am in Baton Rouge again. I finally found a job but now I am away from my family again. I miss them terribly! I wish we could have come here together but circumstances didn't allow for that at this time. I have been here since Sept. and I have seen them 1 time so far. Soon I will be able to see them more often once we catch up on everything we got behind on while I was out of work. It has been rough these 2 months without them but I have faith that things will get better & we will be together again in no time!

HERE IS THE PLAN STAN

Monday, December 15, 2008

We have a plan to get out of Louisiana. Our goal is Boulder, Colorado and our move date is March. If I do not have a firm job in Colorado by March then the plan is to move back to Austin, Texas. We miss Austin so much and everything that is familiar but we want a new life and to try Colorado. I have never seen snow and I want to so bad! I get excited thinking about the mountains! So that is our plan and we are not going to deviate from it unless we have to. Let's hope the fates are good to us in 2009!

The meaning of family

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

The dictionary meaning of family is any group of persons closely related by blood, as parents, children, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Family is so much more than just being blood related. It is the simple things in life where all the material things fade away and just love and kinship remain. The togetherness of sitting around a fire at the hunting camp listening to the football game on the radio. Chasing armadillo's with your cousin's. Sneaking the little sips of beer when your dad would tell you to go get him one. Being mischievious and rowdy when our parents weren't looking. Trying to be all grown up like your parents. Dancing and singing with your cousins at parties your parents and grandparents would have. Crawfish boils in the country. Family reunions. Riding four wheelers and go carts till you are to pooped to walk. Picking on your younger siblings till they got so mad they told on you. Those are the simple things in life that this day and age have left behind. There aren't many people who have that any more which is truly sad. Those are the times that I miss and wish would bring this world back together where money and gadgets aren't everything. Family is the most important and when all the material things are gone family will always be there.
