I'm so right there with you. My summer has seen me gaining weight, not losing. Let's try again. That's all we can do.....just keep trying.

Taking control of your life means taking control of the little things. The goal of wanting to "lose weight" is too big and abstract to really take control of. Start by setting just a few tiny exercise and healthy eating goals. If you stick to them, you'll start noticing the big picture coming together. It takes a lot of time, persistence, and commitment, but you can do it!

Wow, this post could be my post! I had all kinds of crazy summer goals and here we are in the middle of August and I am not close to any of them. Why do we hold ourselves back? Sounds like you've got a handle on it now though. Good luck! Report Inappropriate Comment |

I don't know how those people are so dedicated to blogging on a daily basis. It is not my thing.. I said I would but I haven't. Sounds like the same excuse I use for exercising...
Well. Blog world. I think I will blog when i think I need to... You never know I could get into a habit and end up doing it daily anyway....
So for now I leave u and will blog again one day..

I have blogged from time-to-time, but also just can't think of anything to say outside of my normal daily thread comments.

Apparently it is helpful for some people. I usually cannot think of anything to say. Judy Report Inappropriate Comment |

I think you've run into the same problem that most people do with exercise. When you make a commitment to do something everyday, it's way too overwhelming. You end up skipping a few days, which leads to a few more, and then you feel like you've completely failed, so why bother. If you want to create a habit, try making a smaller more manageable commitment, and make it very specific. For example, you could promise to blog on the same day that you do your weigh-in. It's only once a week, so you'll have no excuse to skip it. And it's connected with a regular event, so you won't just forget about it either. Once you've made it a habit, you can add a day. You can use the same approach for exercise, or anything else that you would like to make a regular habit. Report Inappropriate Comment |
