It's been three years since I last blogged and a lot has happened during that time. I lost two family members as well as my little buddy Tip. All are loved, mourned and remembered still.
On the brighter side, I have a new four-footed friend named Yukon, who we rescued from the local animal shelter. He's a five-year old springer spaniel cross with a few minor health issues (nothing I can't handle though); and he's very active. We go out for walks at least twice a day (I walk, he runs!)
On my last visit to my doctor, I was informed that I had a fatty liver and had better look after it or else. He doesn't mince words. Now, every morning I start my day with a cup of hot water and three teaspoons of lemon juice; this helps cleanse my liver and get rid of the fat deposits. Of course I've had to change my eating habits (which have become less than ideal the past three years). None the less, during my hiatus from Spark, I've managed to keep my original weight loss in tact and have also lost another two pounds. And I've also become more active, which helps immensely.
I read an article recently which helped me determine what body type I have and how to eat properly according to my type. I'm an apple which means I carry all my excess weight around my middle and have a sweet tooth (who doesn't??!!). In order to speed up my metabolism I should cut down my carb intake to 25% of my daily calories and eat more proteins and fruits and veggies. So far it seems to be working for me.
