I'm smiling

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

I really do enjoy pleasant days. No stress. No hurry up and wait. No deadlines. Just a day to hang with friends. Encouraging each other and being a part of each others lives. I'm paying close attention to how my body is responding to this insulin. Keeping tabs on my eating and trying to remember to fit in some exercise. I did the chair cardio video with Coach Nicole. I enjoyed it and I think it will be a regular in my fitness plan.

Exhale...

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

O.k. I'm breathing...the doctor appointment was not so bad. A1c is at 8.1 and this is the highest it's ever been BUT that's o.k. ... it's not 10. the cholesterol is at 103 which is surprisingly low (my guess was that it had climbed to the 130's). so, I'm doing alright with those numbers. Now to get the glucose down. My doctor did something I had never heard of, she kept me on metformin (lowered it to 500 2/day), and gave me Lantus Solo Star to go along with the metformin...this should be interesting.
I blew everything I started yesterday, though. Tomorrow's another day. I found my pedometer and it needs a battery. Maybe I'll get a new one when I get some money. For now...baby steps and no wigging out emoticon

Holding my breath

Monday, May 21, 2012

Hoping not to turn too blue on this, but I'm really anxious about the doctor visit on tuesday (11/22/12). I really don't want to know my blood test results...every time my glucose is up, so is everything else. Oh well, maybe the results won't be as bad I think they'll be. I just hate switching meds. I always have most, if not all, the side effects. I think a good meditation is in order before turning in for the night...time to let go.
