Hey all,

Well last week I visited 5 national parks in 5 days, and did a bunch of driving in between. My diet...wasn't the best, but my calorie burn WAS wicked. My weight went up a little but my measurements went down, so I'm gonna hold off and weigh in next Monday, hoping that some of it is bloat from all the sodium and traveling. :)

Meanwhile we are rapidly working out our moving plan, since we have to be out end of June and Alex may be gone. FOrtunately for us, the place we are moving is owned by a friend and currently empty anyway, (well it's furnished but no one is living there) so we can maybe move in a bit earlier.

Anyway, gotta get to work!

Day 10, 11, and 12

So, I went to the gym Thursday, even though I didn't want to. It was cold, I was cold, so I decided I would sit in the sauna a bit to warm up, stretch, and listen to some tunes to get myself pumped up. Did that, felt better, got to the free weight section in the gym determined to kick some a$$, pretty proud of myself for mind-over-mattering it.

I went and claimed a space, gathered up my weights, and set about doing my first set of lunges...wham, incredible pain in my hamstring. FML. I tried stretching it out and seeing what exercises I COULD do, but everything hurt the hammy, so I went home. Pissed, that I had put myself through all of it when I hadn't wanted to be there in the first place. Ugh.

So I iced it and babied it and had a couple of consolation cocktails Thursday. I felt a lot better yesterday, but I stayed away from the gym since I leave today on my hiking adventure in the AZ and UT national parks and I want it to be rested. So, no gym for me as of late.

So, even though the numbers are not reflecting it, I weighed in 2.5 lbs down today. Granted I'm likely dehydrated, but my body fat percentage was lower and all in all I'm just happy to see some change. This coming week I'm just going to be hiking and driving, so I'm anticipating having a wicked calorie burn and hopefully I'll see that needle go down further.

Ok, I need to pack! T-minus 3 hours and I need to head to the airport, woop woop!

Hey all,

So, while I've been avoiding it for almost two weeks, I decided it was time to pony up and take the 'before' pics. Even though these are a week and a half into it, I was feeling... *slightly* improved so it was time to do the damn thing so I can have something to compare against later. Woof. There goes that slight uptick in self confidence.

So, here I am in all my glory, fallen off the SP bandwagon and trying to hop back on. I've got some old photos around here, lets see what I can dig up..


To keep things in perspective, here's where I was in...2003. No idea what I weighed here, but it was at or around 200 at least.


And here, at the lowest weight in my adult life, in 2009. After boot camp and tech school, at 145 lbs. However, I notice I don't look very toned there, just skinny.


And this, one of the pics I've loved of myself, at Rockfest in 2010, around 150-155lbs.


March 2012, 150-155lbs


November 2012, 170-ish lbs


December 2012, Key West 170lbs

So there you go, quite the history in photographs. Yikes! Work to be done, for sure.

    Your "before" looks pretty good! Hopefully this means that it won't take you long at all to get back on track and to reach a weight where you feel more comfortable.

Day 9 results

Hey all,

Well I did hit the gym hard yesterday, even though I was in pain and I was angry about it. I am happy I did it.

*teehee side note my dog is dreaming right now, love that!

I forgot my vitamins yesterday but I remembered them today, so that's something. I also got to have a big 'ol rootbeer float last night, with diet rootbeer and slow-churned vanilla ice cream...soooo needed that.

Calories eaten: 1531
Calories burned (BMR 1914) plus burn (723): 2637
Day 9 deficit: 1106
Week deficit: 2019

So far so good this week. I think I'm going to run down to the gym and just do a little light cardio for today, then sit in the sauna. Reward!

Hey All,

Well I didn't go to the gym yesterday, instead Alex and I took a 5-mile walk and ate very well. I made salmon with sweet potato oven fries and broccoli for dinner, and Alex bought me Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches :) so we had one of those, too.

Calories eaten: 1460
Calories burned (BMR 1914) plus burn (459): 2373
Day 8 deficit: 913
Week deficit: 913

So yesterday was a good day for my calorie deficit. Today, I need to get in a strength workout! Already got my sports bra on, aww yea!
