EARLY DETECTION IS THE BEST PROTECTION - HAVE YOUR MAMMOGRAM AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR

Sunday, February 06, 2011

Since last October, my wife and I have been battling her breast cancer. She has had 2 surgeries. The first one was to remove the mass and the second to trim tissue from around that area and also to remove a lymph node, as that's the first place the cancer will go after leaving the breast. The results from the second, came back clear. At least she doesn't have to go through the interveinous Chemotherapy, but she does have to take Chemo pills and she is also having radiation treatments. Make sure you go to a reliable clinic for your mammograms. It may cost a little more, but you may live longer.
MY WIFE'S BATTLE, IS MY BATTLE!!!

Mammograms are sooo important. They aren't fun but the alternative is worse. Thank goodness for supportive husbands like Bob! emoticon

It's great that you are so supportive of your wife. emoticon

Early detection is key.
Also important is to eat right--cancer patients need at least nine to thirteen servings of fruits/veggies a day. Broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables have cancer fighting attributes.
We need to lose excess weight especially if the cancer is estrogen receptor positive. Fat feeds estrogen.
- And be physically fit because it IS a battle.
I know Evwings will fight like a girl and you'll be right there as her wingman. emoticon

Thank you, Bob! Your help has made a world of difference!
Pam, I totally agre with you and I never found it in my self exams. My surgeon couldn't find it on his own either. He found it from the digital mammogram and ulta sound that were the second I had to have - simply because the doctor at the clinic where I get my mammos saw a tiny spot not there last year. He wasn't even sure it was a mass or not. But ANYWAY women - and men - check themselves monthly with that once a yr mammo, it's the early detection that saves lives!!

Mammogram important, but self examination is even more important! Both should be done by every woman. Glad to hear you are being supportive. Any woman going through this needs all the support she can get.
