Day 4 - BBL

Monday, June 21, 2010

Day 4 of Brazil Butt Lift went pretty well! On the menu today was Cardio Axe, and High & Tight. Cardio Axe is definitely getting easier, it was the third time I've done it in the past 4 days and some of the steps/moves that were tricky the first and second time I tried them are getting easier. Plus the half hour is going by just as fast as earlier in the week. Cardio Axe is probably my favorite so far!

High & Tight was another story. Made it through the whole 35 minutes today, where the other day I only did about 10 because I had to get to work. Although after the entire floor work today I went out to Walmart and bought a yoga mat! The carpet we have in my apartment was doing a number on my knees, it hurt so much to the point where I would have to stop with the exercise move, even though my legs/butt wasn't tired yet! So hopefully the yoga mat will help out A LOT!

Back to work tomorrow. My long week again. Work Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, and Sun. My short week that I just had, where I only work Wed and Thurs just ALWAYS goes by entirely too fast. *sigh* Hopefully the next two days go by fast so I can get to my days off quickly!

Did my measurements today and again I wanted to cry. I gained 1.4 lbs since yesterday!!! I'm going to blame it on the fact that I had probably 3 times as much Diet Coke as I did water, so I just have a lot of water retention going on. I mean I didn't eat THAT bad yesterday so I can't imagine I could have possibly gained that! Geesh! I always drink almost a gallon of water on the days that I work, so hopefully by Wednesday I'll get all that retention and sodium flushed through.

Almost done with week one of BBL! I'm excited to start Week 2 on Thursday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend in Spark land and you all got some awesome work outs in!

Measurements:
Weight = 191.0
Chest = 41
Waist = 38
Hips = 44
L/R Thighs = 25

    Way to go! To complete both the Cardio Axe AND High and Tight - these are tough to do together when first starting out! I had the same problem with the floor exercises and I used a yoga mat. I know this might sound dumb but I found knee pads worked much better - for me I think it is just middle age creepin up where everything hurts! LOL

Don't fret the weight gain - just consciously do the best you can. If you set your limit of soda to 3 bottles a day - don't give in to anymore after 3. Drink crystal ice in seltzer water or something else. Just a suggestion. My drink of choice is coffee which is not much better than soda. It took me months, but now I can actually function fine with one large cup of coffee instead of several large cups throughout the day.

Keep up the good work and keep blogging!

BBL - Rest Day & Day 3

Sunday, June 20, 2010

So Friday I took a rest day cuz my behind was pretty sore from the first two days of BBL. Today I picked it back up again with Day 3 today. I looked at the schedule they have for the plan I'm following and today should have been a rest day so I just took a rest day early, which I think is alright.

Today I had Cardio Axe and Bum Bum. Cardio Axe went really well but I was maybe 10 minutes into Bum Bum and I was soooooo tired! But I struggled through and finished the rest of Bum Bum! I feel pretty good today, not too sore. We'll see how I feel in the morning. I think tomorrow is Cardio Axe and High & Tight, I'm excited to keep this going!

I am gonna take my measurements starting tomorrow and keep track from there. Got on the scale today and almost cried, up another pound because even though I have been working out, my eating has been horrible. But my sis and I went grocery shopping today and got soooo many good eats so I should be able to keep track from here on out of my calories.

I think I might make a trip out to Track Shack tomorrow depending on when I get up. It's a local running store here in Orlando. I bought my Polar heart rate monitor from them and I haven't been able to change the battery in the chest strap, it just won't open for me. So I have been without my heartrate monitor for a couple weeks now. I'm gonna call them and see if maybe they have a special tool to open them since they are an authorized dealer. I feel like I'm burning quite a good amount of calories during BBL, it would just be nice to know exactly how much!

Well that's all for today! I hope everyone is having a good weekend!! Talk to ya tomorrow!

Measurements:
Weight = 189.6

    It would be great if you could post how many calories you burned in these workouts. I know I have no clue what I burn but I do feel like it is more than the reported 100-200 calories. I know it depends on your weight and heart rate so everyone is different but it still would be interesting to track your calories burned per workout.

Now that I think about it - I got real "tired" in the first two weeks too...sometimes in the middle of the first workout and sometimes later. To me I took it as being out of shape rather than tired though. I guess it really is just your body fighting you to have its way or being relaxed and comfy. LOL!

Brazilian Butt Lift - Days 1 & 2

Friday, June 18, 2010

So I started the BBL videos on Wednesday! I must say that I love them already!

On Wednesday I had Basics, and Bum Bum. I made my sister do it with me and we were laughing and dancing all around. When it was all done she was like 'that's it?' Time definitely flew by really fast! And I love Leandro, I think he is so cute and I love the way he says bum bum. "Boom Boom!"

Thursday I did Cardio Axe which was really fun! So much dancing and it definitely fly by fast! Then I had High & Tight also lined up but I only had time to do the first 10 minutes before I went to work. I didn't feel too sore when I woke up Thursday morning but now I feel pretty sore when I stand up to walk around. I'm exciting to continue on to Day 3 tomorrow though!!

Kind of had an eating bonanza today, did horrific...but tomorrow is a new day! See you tomorrow spark friends!! emoticon

    I am glad you are enjoying the work-outs....I often wonder where the time goes too! You work your butt off in these videos but the are fun.

I am so glad to see that I am not alone in the first few days in how I felt - you work muscles you knew you had but never really used...LOL.

I am starting my 2nd 4weeks of BBL. These videos are a keeper and if you persist and post everyday - you will see your progress (especially when you are feeling like there is none)!

Keep posting! I'll be looking forward to seeing your progress..

You can do it!

    I was just reading about the Brazilian Butt Lift! What videos did you get?
Here's my story - I have lost quite a bit of weight, and now my butt is flat :-( I should be grateful, but I keep remembering a girl at work who lost tons of weight, and it looked like someone had totally flattened her butt - I really want a little boo-tay :-)
And it sounds like you are having lots of fun with it!

Thanks for posting! emoticon emoticon

Wardrobe Malfunction

Saturday, June 12, 2010

So I went to the gym on my break and ran 2 miles. Yay! But as I was in the locker room changing I had a wardrobe malfunction! I was putting my regular bra back on and the strap broke! I was shocked! It's a VS one too so I'm a little pissed...but I have had it for awhile. I didn't really have any safety pins or anything to rig it with so I had to put my sweaty, stinky sport bra back on and wear it back to work! BLAH!!! I didn't know what else to do! My twins are a good size so it's not like I could go bra-less!!!

Gonna go to the gym after work and try and do 3 miles. Gonna try and start a habit of that so then I get in 5 miles on the days that I work. Then do 3 miles on the days I'm off plus some weight training.

I ordered the Brazillian Butt Lift kit yesterday off of Amazon. I should get that on Monday - I'm so excited to try it out! Beyonce bootie here I come!

Okie dokie...that's all for now. More tomorrow! I hope everyone is having a good day! And an even better weekend! Have some fun for me since I have to work!

Starting Anew - Day 1

Thursday, June 03, 2010

If there could be like a poster child for starting over that would be me.

I can't even count how many times this year I have tried to start over with the whole weight loss / being healthy thing. Sometimes I did well for a couple of weeks, other times a week, others just a few days. I can't really pinpoint why I stopped going on the right track each time. It's like part of my brain just shut off and said I don't want to do this.

I remember the beginning of last year I started out at 201. I got down to right around 157 at the end of June. Once July hits, a switch just went off in my brain and I just stopped. By January of this year I was back up to around 170. Now it's beginning of June and I am up to 185. I refuse to go any higher. I can't. I have been through this all before. I know how to do it, I know how to get it done, why can't my brain just stick on the same page? It drives me crazy!

I do have a BIG goal of getting to 125. That is my ultimate goal weight. But I've decided that this time around I am going to set little mini goals to help me along the way and not focus on the big one 24/7.

So my first MINI goal is to reach 170 by the end of July. That is just about 2 months to lose 15 lbs. 7.5 lbs a month. I KNOW I can do this!!! Once I reach that goal I will set another mini goal, and so on.

I know I really need to hold myself accountable for every workout I do and everything I put into my mouth. I really hope I can stick with this, this time around. I can use all the encourgement and frequent checking from all my Sparkfriends!!!

    We've all been there. I totally understand - I've just started again too. Together we can do this. Well done on starting again, I know how hard it is.

    I think most of us go through this. Actually the process of change involves realizing the patterns that cause the problem we have.

If you want to find the source of stoppping, don't! It will surface and you will see it. Then, realize it is not real!

You are worth the effort it takes to conquer this pattern.
