Tomorrow is the last day of my first full calendar year with SparkPeople. And I'm thrilled with the changes I have been able to make in that year.
I've lost 30 lbs, and kept 25 of it off, for the whole year.
I've learned to love exercise, and continue to work out even on days when I have every reason in the world not to. That is my best achievement.
But my weight has started to creep back up over the holidays, and I really want to get control of that before it gets out of hand and I find myself right back where I was in 2011, when I decided that was the very last time I would go to bed on New Year's Eve promising myself that "tomorrow I will g on a diet, and finally get into shape."
As New Year's Eve approaches this year, I am in good shape and don't feel like I have to make any such promise, but there is room for improvement.
So, as I start out 2013 I'm committed to making a few changes for the better, and renewing my commitment to SP.
Change #1 I'm going to cut sweets out of my diet. I will break my sweets habit by being sugar-free for 21 days at least, and then keeping the streak going until I feel I can honestly afford to indulge without adverse effect.
Change #2 I'm going to do better at tracking my food intake. I won't make a fake promise to be 100% on that point, but I will be better than I have been.
I'll be back, on January 1, to start a day-to-day blog to help keep me focused and tracking my 2013 commitments.
I expect there will be a lot of recommitment blogs on SP this weeks, and I wish everyone the best of luck. Have a safe and happy, warm and healthy, New Year.

The weather has been stellar!
I've gotten out to hike or run each day.
Had a wonderful lunch out with my husband and son today,
Just tracked all my food for the day, and met all my goals with 9 calories to spare!!
How great is that?
Pretty darn great, I say.

I have been sitting at the same weight for weeks, months even! And finally I am off the plateau with a small loss...1 lb..two weeks in a row!
I cheated a bit, weighing in on a Sunday night, but it was worth it! I'm happy!

I've had The nicest day today, starting with a casual walk with the dog, just about 3 miles and then taking a long(ish) bike ride through by ways and back roads of NH.
It is a beautiful day here, and I am just so pleased to be in good enough shape to do these things and enjoy them!
Thank you SparkPeople and SparkFriends for helping me get back here!
