It's amazing

I saw the doctor on Monday for knee problems and told her that I'm tired of being fat! So she gave me a diet plan and I'm easing into it. I'm starting with sticking to 1600 calories a day and drinking lots of water! More steps and harder ones to come!

It has been really amazing and eye opening to see where my calories and carbs are coming from. It does make it easier to see what I want to eliminate from my diet. I have cut soda wayyyyyy down.....I use to drink 2 ltrs a day, now I'm down to just 16 ozs. By next week I will be down to none! There are too many calories and carbs in soda, it is amazing how many are in there!

Keeping track and being honest, even when people will say things that you don't want to hear about what you eat, is the best way to go! Hopefully in a few weeks my eating habits will get better and better!

I recently read this book and I'm going to TRY it out. It really is along the lines of what I want to do, but it is hard to change. The book is about getting back to the earth. Eating fruits, veggies, and meats which also helps with my goals of eating more "green", less packaging, no plastic, nothing artificial. I also love how there is a workout included that doesn't require a gym. We did belong to a gym a few years ago, but after the children got sick after each time we were there, we stopped going.

Anyone else read this book and want to work on it together?

Not what I was hoping for, but pretty good I think! I have been getting faster and going further on the treadmill. I stopped eating after 8 at night (the hours I always eat unhealthy and unneeded food) and I have cut down my milk drinking to just 3 cups a day! Wahoo!

The word "diet"

It seems some are bothered by this word, they think of it as negative. Words are words, we choose to see them as positive or negative. I don't choose to see diet as a negative word. If you look up diet in the dictionary there are many means.....the one I choose to follow is..... a particular selection of food, esp. as designed or prescribed to improve a person's physical condition or to prevent or treat a disease. There is nothing negative about that definition. I am on a diet.....a diet rich in good healthy foods that will improve my health, my life, and my future. A diet is only "bad" if we choose for it to be. I really am ok with being on a diet and using the word.

Thanks for everyone that supports me! And don't worry, I'm OK on my diet :-)
