Stress Busting Challenge Week 1

Monday, September 05, 2011

emoticon Week 1 Action Plan emoticon

Take the stress test. Test your stress level and discover ways to overcome your vulnerability to stress.

Check did this day one. It says I am moderatly stressed.

Start a stress journal. Keep track of the most common or intense stressors you encounter this week. Your SparkPage blog is a great place to track what causes you stress, how strong the stressor feels, and how you responded to it. You can also rate your daily stress level on this online tracker.

I will post a stress journal for the week and edit it.

Set your goals. At the end of the week, review your journal and set your stress-busting goals. What do you hope to accomplish by the end of this challenge? Share your results for the week and your goals in our week 1 forum.

1. Plan and prioritize my daily tasks and projects at work.
2. Create a budget and actually follow it.
3. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
4. Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
5. Meditate with deep breathing and positive thoughts about me. 10minutes before bed.
6. Use lists to track what needs to be done for the day at home and at work.

FULL UPDATE, I am back and I am hitting it hard!

Saturday, March 06, 2010

So first off I would like to say I miss you all! This last semester has been so crazy for me.

February 4th I got my husband back from immigration. He was taken June 21, because he was driving his grandpas car and his grandpa did not have insurance on the car. For any minor infraction, in the state of Utah, you are taken in if you do not have a resident card or citizenship. My husband had to stay in jail until the whole immigration case was over. it took almost 8 months (you have no idea how slow this process is!) My husband has not been to Mexico since he was 27 days old, he does not read or write the language, he was educated in America also. My husband and I met when we were in 5th grade and we have been dating since we were 15, we are now 22 and 23 years old. We were going to start the immigration process once i was done with school so we could afford it( with lawyer= $6000 and all fees to immigration almost $4000. We still owe the lawyer $5065. But the bad part is all over now! Yippee! He got his Green Card in the mail yesterday and his SSN will be here any day.

I have not been working out but that is going to change again. I worked out this morning :oD!!!

THIS IS MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTION TO GIVE YOU AN UPDATE... :OD
Our lives are what we choose to make them!
This is the year of choice.

I choose to smile and be optimistic. ~~~ I have been working on this all day everyday!!~~~
I choose to work on patience this year. ~~~yes~~~
I choose to continue working my OA program and be more active with my sponsor. ~~~ have not gone since January but we talk on the phone 2x a month~~~

I choose to limit my laptop time to 1.5 hours a day. ~~~ yes :oD~~~
I choose to participate on SPARKPEOPLE everyday! ~~~ jumping back on guys~~~
I choose to learn a new recipe each week.. the will be 52 new recipes :oD. ~~~ i have missed 2 weeks of this but i have been doing it for the most part!~~~
I choose to work on my posture. ~~~ yes yes yes~~~
I choose to plan my meals the day before. ~~~ only lunch~~~
I choose to walk 25miles a week. ~~~ I don't know what about 9,000 steps a day equals but tat is what i am getting in the classroom.~~~
I choose to Zumba at least 3 days a week. ~~~ i am going to do this today, and start it back up~~~~
I choose to take more pictures. ~~~ yes yes yes~~~
I choose to make the most of my student teaching. ~~~ oh yes!!!!~~~
I choose to graduate in April. ~~~ right on track!~~~
I choose to get a teaching job and start my career! ~~~ right on track!!~~~
I choose to complete A 1/2 marathon. ~~~ getting back on track~~~
I choose to journal my food EVERYDAY! ~~~ found the journal today :oD going to start again~~~

I choose to drink 64 oz of water each day. ~~~ most days~~~
I choose to read 6 non-school related books. ~~~ i have read 4 so far!~~~
I choose to reach my goal weight of 135 pounds this year. ~~~ getting back on track~~~

I am committed to all of the above things..MY LIFE.

The assault trial is all over too. The man who assaulted me got a month in jail, anger management classes, $500 fine, his wife left him and took their son( he said this in court) He had so many past crimes, what a psycho!

okay got to get back to my school work!,

I'm so happy that all of that is over for you! I know that staying on track is always the hardest when you are really stressed out.

I'm also so happy that the wife of that crazy guy took his kid away. I hope that she stays strong and doesn't go back to him, because that child deserves someone so much better than that.

Welcome back to Sparking!

emoticon back, Jackie! I missed your sweet smile!

I have thought of you at least a zillion times. I had no idea all that was going on in your life, my sweet young SP Friend. I simply pictured you busy with the demands of your student teaching.

I am pleased that you are back & raring to go to goal!

I am in prayer for our Abba to unfold His will in the working out of the immigration situation for your husband, Jackie.
