ONWARD AND UPWARD ~ Sill on the Move

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

Life on the move is challenging for many people world wide. I am inspired by people who take on that challenge and succeed. There are many who suffer great pain on a daily basis and yet find ways to overcome and succeed. I am grateful to these over-comers for the inspiration they give me on my journey.

Have you heard of people loving others to death? We all have well meaning family and friends that love us so much they don't want to see us in pain, go hungry, and a myriad of other things. My friends love me very deeply. They don't want me to over-do and try very hard to do things for me. I return their love equally. There are things I have to do and still show them my love despite their concern for me. I can't roll over and play dead. With their help and my good judgment I continue to move and do.

Today I did many things and thanks to all of you out in Spark-land I continued my day with joining my friends for this Wednesday evening. Generally I would have cashed it in this evening. Today was successful. With a little here, and a little there I will reach my goal and maintain.

ON THE MOVE - UPWARD AND ONWARD

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Some of us ladies got together today to make 270+ meatballs for a student event coming up. We mixed together 20 lbs. of hamburger; I lost count of the pounds of sausage and other ingredients. There was lots of moving going on in that kitchen as we sang old songs, laughed and traded work stations from mixing, rolling the meatballs, cleaning, etc.

It felt good to be in motion in a way that not only benefited me, but also some college students.

Those students are going to have some very happy tummies. emoticon

CONTINUING ONWARD AND UPWARD

Sunday, April 21, 2013

I made the blunder that many do when beginning exercise. I overdid, but being the stubborn mule I am I continued to go to a rally that was going to be challenging at best. All those wonderful little physical challenges that wake with me each morning and lay down with me in bed each night decided to have a party. My body decided to let me know there are limits of which it will not go beyond.

I had fun though, but for the meantime, this little gal will cool her heels and check tomorrow if this body will allow me to try again at a little slower pace and not quite so much action. Pain, it is a wonderful reminder to be kind to a body that shouldn't be able to move in the first place. But move; this body will!

Don't give up - just tone it down a bit. As long as you are moving you are groovin'!
Have a great week!

Lol - i do the same thing too - I overdid it on Thursday and its taken till Sunday where I think i can do a better monitered workout. Even so I always call the overworkout pain "good" pain as it means your health is on your radar and reminds us that small consistent steps are what work best. Hugss from a spark buddy that truly did feel your pain.

Congrats on your moving!!!!

S.M.A.R.T. LIVING

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

I want to be more flexible, strengthen my knees and build endurance so I can move through my day to be more independent and be able to get 15 min. of weeding in my flower bed done in a day.

I believe this is attainable and realistic. It is something I should reasonably be able to accomplish with stretching exercises and the seated exercises I have chosen for my daily routines.

I continue to move ONWARD AND UPWARD.

STILL MOVING FOR LIFE

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

I certainly didn't think I could do it today, but I did! I did my stretches, my warm ups and the modified exercises. To the average onlooker my little routine would seem easy and mundane. In my healthy days it would have looked to me that way too. Today I congratulate myself and say WELL DONE! I am pleased with my achievements today. I still find it impossible to get all my nutrients in, especially my protein, but I will find a way and I will improve in that area. All in all, I give myself a pat on the back and say, "Move Onward and Upward!"
