Prayers once again

Thursday, July 21, 2011

If you would, please pray for a young man named Mitch. Tests showed he had an irregularity in his brain which may be a tumor. He is a fine man, and my daughter's future brother-in-law. Please pray that God's healing hand touch him, and that God grant loving peace to his family. Thank you!

The power of prayer and faith is beyond words. We have our own testimony to His love and faithfulness and sovereignty you can read about at www.mccabe-web.com related to cancer and brain tumors and doctor's prediction of 3 to 6 months to live. I also have a nephew-in-law who just went through brain surgery for a benign tumor so understand the concern. Keep looking to Jesus for your strength and hope. And keep praying for Mitch.

An answer to a father's prayer.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

I have been praying for my children for the past year and a half to return to the Church. I love them all, but they haven't been faithful in their practice of the faith as they should be. My wife told me today that our eldest daughter, who is getting married in October, is returning to the Church and also getting married in the Church! I intend to say a novena in thanks for this!

Thanks be to God!

Praise the Lord! He does answer prayers - in His time. A thank you novena would be a wonderful way to say thanks.

How thrilled you must be!! If only our kids understood that our HIGHEST and BEST hope for them is to follow Jesus and for HIM to be first in their lives. So many other aspects of an abundant life here would follow if they did that. But looking back, it has taken ME way too long to have fully understood that, so I try to not be too impatient with my "kids", and to keep praying for them, as I'm certain my parents kept praying for me.

Keep praying for this daughter, though, as well as your other children. Satan never likes to lose his grip. He won't give us so we can't either!

    How happy you must be!

I help with admin on the weddings for our church, and it's lovely when couples actually start attending church prior to the date - and even better if they continue afterwards when they don't have to "jump through hoops"!

Praise God! It's so hard when they leave. But then, I left for 10 years and my husband for 25. Her faith will mean more to her now that she's chosen it consciously for herself. :)

Tragedy

Monday, November 08, 2010

While I was away this weekend, I heard news of a tragic car wreck near my home. This accident claimed the lives of four people, one of whom was an acquaintance. He was a fellow singer, a barbershopper who loved his art, and he was a retired school principal who found it as his calling to continue to act in that role as a "sub". He was assisting another principal who has cancer when the accident occured. Please pray for the families and friends who will feel the loss of their loved ones. Thank you!

Please pray!

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Please pray for my wife's school, as they have had a tragic loss. One of the aides was found dead in a motel room under apparently mysterious circumstances. Irregardless, this is not going to be a happy year for them. Please pray for peace for comfort for them and especially for the family. Thank you.

Thoughts on becoming a "senior citizen".

Thursday, July 08, 2010

Today I turned the magic number of 55..AARP wants me in their ranks, Bob Evans will let me eat from a special menu, etc. I look on this age as a start for some reassessment of my goals. of what I want to make a better, healthier me.
As I continue on mt Spark journey, I see the changes in my lifestyle I have made, and the changes I need to make. I wish I had made the changes in my life 20 years ago, but as they say, "if wishes were horses....". I am enjoying the changes in me that have occured because of Sparkpeople, but I also realize that I am a work in progress, because I am growing older (definitely), and growing wiser (maybe). I am glad I am able to handle becoming a "senior" because of the changes in my fitness and diet.

I will continue to...

Keep on Sparkin'!
