Hi everyone. My title -Always be sure to read labels--we all know that but we don't always do it. I drink a lot of water always have so meeting my requirements in a day is not hard. I love the flavored waters, you know like the ones from Wal-mart. I love raspberry and blackberrys, so when I saw the Cascade Ice brand of water from Winco and they had those two flavors I was in heaven. I was drinking 3 to 4 of them a day. I believe 33 ounces per bottle. As you can see I was getting my water. Had been drinking that brand for about 3 months. A few days ago while sitting on the couch my eyes skinned over the back label and I saw carbs. What? Carbs how could that be. I then looked "98" calories per serving, 4 servings per bottle. 1200 to 1500 calories before I ever added my daily food. Whoo. Not drinking those anymore. I have a feeling that was one of my losing problems. Here's hoping. So remember read those labels even when you think you know. Talk to everyone later. Have a great week.

Hi everyone. It's been awhile. My excuse, even though it's not a very good one, is that I worked summer school and was taking a conversational Spanish class with my sister in the evenings. I was doing alot of studying. I mean a lot of studying. It's not that you can't teach an old dog new tricks, it's just that it takes longer. Anyway it was a fun class and I even learned to speak some. Now I just have to continue. Haven't been doing very well lately and I have no one to blame but myself. But I'm back in the saddle again and I have it cinched on tighter. Here's hoping for a better month. Have a great week and I'll be back here next week.

Lousy weekly weigh-in

Oh boy what a lousy weight in. I put on 4 pounds this week. Went back to my hand written food journal. Not really sure why I put that much on. Did have a McDonald's meal, a kids meal. Surely that should be allowed once in a while. Always write down my portion sizes to make sure that I am eating a proper protion. It is so easy sometimes to eat more than you should. I have been playing around with this 5 pounds up and down for a couple of months now. Anyone want this 5 pounds? Just kidding. Well I am not going to let it beat me. I will end in the black. Don't know what is wrong. This week's weigh-in I put on 1 1/4 pounds.
It was spring break, but I did try to eat in moderation and not pick. Maybe some was from the week before, I don't know. I do a lot of lifting and bending at work I'm sure that helps. Spring break week I should have been out walking and walking. But to be honest I did more vegetating than anything else. Maybe my body just needed to recoupe. Well today starts another week and Monday I'm back at work, so I'll lift, bend and walk a little faster. Here's to a better week. The flying ghost.

Adding a Blog was easy. So let's see. I heard about Sparkpeople from a member of my Tops club. Tops is a weight support group, it stands for
Take Off Pounds Sensibly. I 've been a member of Sparkpeople for about 2 months now. It is helping. The nutrition tracker does open your eyes when you think you are eating properly. A simple Taco Bell taco is wow in calories and who wants just one? So that's on my once in a while list and then only one taco. Lost 3/4 pound last week at weight-in. This week I'm not so sure. I've been on spring break and even though I'm really trying to watch what I eat my exercise has gone by the wayside. I guess I need this week to recharge the old batteries. Next week will be better. The dogs are calling they want to play ball. Talk later.
