We were away on a week vacation last week. I didn't track a lot of cardio activities but we sure walked a lot. So I am not too worried that I didn't get much exercise in. I did track 2 hours of swimming and 2 short hikes.

This week however, it looks like I won't meet my calories burned goal. Two of the pools I go to regularly are closed for maintenance. One for this whole week and the other all the way until labor day. I am getting really antsy about not being able to swim my routine. I'm feeling like I am slipping behind and have to build up again.

I did a short bike ride with my son the other day and I put in another longer ride tonight. I am going to put in more during the rest of this week. On Saturday, I am planning on taking the kids to swim at a local hotel. The older two have been itching to try their snorkels. I'll get my workout in then.

Progress, one way or another

I did ok during fasting month. If I didn't swim, I cycled around the neighborhood. I didn't swim as much I had planned but there were a couple of circumstances that curbed swimming; art fair in town equal blocked roads for at least half of the week, travelling, etc.

I went back to swimming this week. Got three days in so far. 2.5 miles total. Not too bad.

I have also shed the 15 lbs weight gain since I started my routine again in April. I have shed a few more pounds after that. So, I think my body is on even keel now. I am hoping to see more loss in the future. I still have a long way to go but my goal for now is to get healthier and to move around easily.

Here are a few of today's pics. I put silly stuff over my head because I wasn't wearing a hijab when I took these pics. Pardon the silly stuff.

Day 4 fasting

I have exercised during 3 out 4 days of fasting. A 30 minutes bike ride and two half a mile swims.

They weren't bad. I did these about an hour before break fast time so, I wasn't thirsty for long.

My weight has continued to drop steadily. About 1 to 1.5 lbs a week the past 4 weeks. My body is still toning up pretty well especially around my arms, torso and lower legs.

Have to keep it up.

Well, fasting month is here. I am looking forward to fasting. Other than religious reasons, it'll be great to get rid of toxic and whatnot from my body this month.

With fasting, I'll probably won't be working out as hard as I had these past couple of months. If I get 30 minutes 3 times a week, that's good enough. With fasting as early as 4:15am and ends around 9:15pm, there isn't much wiggle room to go to the pool before or after fasting. I'll have to go in around 7:30pm and do a short swim.

Wish me luck! I hate to derail my routine but religion is more important.

  


A change?

I have been swimming 3 times a week with biking or something else in between swimming days.

Until recently, my weight has stayed steady at 14 lbs over my weight before I jumped back to exercising this spring. I am finally seeing a dip in the weight this past week. I weighed myself twice this week and each was lower than the previous weigh-in.

Finally. Finally. So, all I have to do is keep chugging.
