so my husband and i started watching closer to what we eat and when. i wouldnt say a diet because we havent really changed much of the foods. we still eat things like chicken, steak, we had cake on my birthday last week. we just make sure we eat 5 meals a day, and each meal is no more than 400 calories. for me i keep mine around 275-350. We eat a small "meal" every 3 hours. and i gotta say its been working out great. in the one week that we've been doing this he has lost 7 pounds, and i have lost 4.
We do exercise too. so its not just the food helping us out. we are starting off small right now. but we are working on it together and i love it. i feel very proud of both of us. i havent felt that in a long time.

so this is day 5 that my husband and i have been working out together. its much eaiser to get into it with someone with me. Woke up today feeling pretty good. we have been starting kinda small, but will be adding more and more as we go. right now we get up do streches, roll out our mats, he does a set of sit ups(20), i do a set of crunches (30). We each have a set of resistance bands so we work those for about 3 mins. and go for another set of sit-ups/crunches, and finish up with one more round of bands. Then its time for our jog outside. right now i can only do 3min tops, but trying every day to push more.
We've also been more careful wit the food we eat. We eat 5 small meals thru-out the day. so every 3 hours we eat a meal that is between 250-400 cal. Even though today is my birthday, we will still are goin with the plan. i found a skinny lasagna skillet to make, and a recipe for a low cal cake.

Hoping for some advice or someone that understands

I really need a kick in the BUTT lately. I tell myself "oh you can do it by yourself. you dont need anyone there to hold your hand to help you do this" but i think i really do. But who. No one i know has the same kind of schedule or life i do to fit in workouts.
I work 5-6 nights a week (avg 30 a week) i go to school 3/4 time. plus keeping up with my house, my husband and kinda kids. I don't get to see them a whole lot as it is. My only time to go out the the gym in early am. I get my son of to school then i run out to the gym for at least an hour.
I have found when i go to the gym, i get stuck in a rut using the same equipment (i do change weights and reps thou) but the very few times someone has been there with me we've gone thru other eqiup and areas. it was fun.

UGG i'm just feeling tired and worn out and have no energy from life to do the things i know i should do.

Try dancing in your living room to favorite music for a change up from the gym. emoticon

SO disappointing today

So all excited and ready to go to the gym at 815 this morning. IN the car got my water and purse in the seat next to me. I get to the gym and the parking lot is BEYOND packed. there were 6 rows full. I am not the type to be comfortable to work out with so many people around. so i chickened out and came home. I hated doing that but no matter what i'm dragging my butt there tomorrow. i have to. ~hang my head in shame~

    Thank you. I do have some back ups at home. my Wii fit is my fave. gotta yoga mat, resistance bands and 2 small weights. I do make sure i do some things at home when i dont make it to the gym. Thanks again for the support and the tips! emoticon emoticon

    Just do it! I dont know anything about you or your size, as I have not read your page yet. However, I'll share a couple of things with you. When I first started going to the gym, I was a bit intimidated. But you know what? No one is looking at you to judge you. When I went in the second week of january (about the time all the new years resolution's come in), I saw two large men on the treadmills walking. You know what I thought? I thought GOOD FOR THEM!!! I did not judge them because they are big, or they were walking. I was there not so long ago myself.

The gym is not a competition. It is a place for you to go to get fit, weather you are just starting, or you have been going for months like some of them. Just go, and one day you will be one of them. Dont be intimidated. I do get frustrated when I get there, and all the treadmills, or whatever I want to use that day are full, but then I just find something else to do. You can do it. Also, a backup plan is good as well as Total Package stated. Good luck!

    I understand. Wish you didn't have to experience that. Next time I need you to have a back up plan. Please get a great DVD, like Biggest Loser Bootcamp, Zumba, Walking away the pounds. Have one or more of those handy so that if the gym is packed you can go straight home with gym clothes already on and pop in a DVD. Hey keep it up and in no time you'll feel fabulous enought to strut around the gym and won't care who's looking.

    I understand where you are coming from. We were recently on a cruise, and I wanted to try out the fitness room on a sea day. I was only in there about 30 minutes on a recumbent bike, but there were a number of people who had obviously been there for quite a while, judging by the sweat dripping from their brows. So many of them looked fit and as I was at first intimidated by that, I thought "Well, I am making a change in my lifestyle to be more healthy."
Go tomorrow! You will be so glad you did. And don't feel the shame. It is a chance for you to grow.

So today i decided since i cant make it out the gym, i would do some wii fit. I happen to have last weeks biggest loser dvr'd so i spent my hour and a half doing free step watching biggest loser. love it!
