Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

This year I am trying to focus more on family and less on food. I have good intentions every year, but I have succumbed to my food urges in the past. I will try very hard this thanksgiving to enjoy the time with my family. After all, that is what we are celebrating, thankfulness and family.
I wish a blessed Thanksgiving to all.

focus on family helps so much. I keep a glass of water in hand at all times as I grew up in a food=love family. Having the water keeps from eating as much and also keep food from being placed in my hands. I also usually go out and play with neices, nephews and younger cousins. I have a blast with them and get my exercise in.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I am trying a subliminal CD - Slim Forever to give me a boost during this time of the year. I'm hoping it keeps me focused. emoticon

Fun Labor Day Weekend

Tuesday, September 02, 2014

My husband and I returned from a special weekend in Ohio. My husband's sister and brother- law celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. It was a great reunion with relatives filled with reminiscing and just being together. We all danced the night away on Sunday. It was great fun, but now I feel like I was hit by a Mack truck. I think I'm getting too old to do that much dancing. I'd probably do it again, if I had the chance. Lol!
I am happy that I was able to resist eating all of the food and sweets that were available, though emoticon

Thanksgiving

Friday, November 19, 2010

I'm very excited about our family visiting us for the holiday. We usually travel, but this year they are all coming to us., because we have a new granddaughter . My daughters and I will be doing the cooking, and I have tried to adapt my recipes, so that they will be healthier.
I'm still apprehensive about all of this. I hope I can concentrate on the time we spend together as a family conversing and enjoying each other, and not strictly the food.
I hope we spend some time playing games, which keep all of us engaged.

What an effort! AND your daughters are emulating your example for a healthy dinner! That is wonderful! We forget that our children do that. I feel a personal responsibility to my granddaughter as I know she will pick up bad stuff from me including the way I eat. She's only four and a half and will remind me not to speak with my mouth full! She keeps me on my toes as well. Have a fabulous Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing! You are truly an inspiration!
