BLC 22 Plan of action!!!!!

Wednesday, June 05, 2013

The BLC is going to be epic for me. I have sat down and had a heart to heart with myself, and there is no physical reason why I am still overweight. I know what and how to do it, I have support online and in my daily life so that only leaves me. My relaxed attitude gets in the way that and fear of success so I have to be aggressive and get tough with myself(in a loving supportive way). Here is what I am facing going into BLC 22
Weight: 302.4
Hips- 59.5

1. I have my meals planed for the next 12 weeks with Sunday being a free day. That does not mean go wild but if I am craving something Sunday is my day to have it.

2. grocery shop on Saturday for the week and food prep on Sundays.
3. Continue with Meatless Mondays only I need to be more daring and stop making safe choices.
4. No eating after 7 if I workout in the am or 8 if I workout in the evening.
5. Complete MFP daily no exceptions.
6. Try new fitness classes and stop letting my fears control me. What can happen I finish the class or realize that my fitness level is not there yet and have something to work towards.
7. Participate fully with my team and learn and maybe teach someone something that they did not know.
8. Attend church more often weight loss always goes better for me when I have balance in my life.

My rewards: I will get 2 new nail polishes every week that I am on track. My reward at the end will be 2 fitness shirts with cute sayings that I have been eyeballing.

Welcome to ATL Traveling True Blues!!!!!

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Hey Traveling Blues glad you guys are here!!! Mandi sent me a text and said that you guys were on the front porch hope you didn't wait to long I was in the shower trying to get ready for our time together. Technically I live in Dekalb county Georgia which is a suburb about 30 minutes outside Atlanta, but for the purpose of the visit we will mostly be in Atlanta. I packed us some fruit and lunch so that we can enjoy our day. I figured that we would start with a nice breakfast at one of my favorite places. They have healthy and not so healthy choices to pick from We can head over to where I workout so that I can show how much fun we have while working out. Tasha the trainer loves visitors and everyone is treated like family once they enter the doors . I figured that we could head over to if anyone brought their kids this is a great place for the entire family. We can stay for the laser show which seems to be a popular attraction with visitors. I forgot to ask earlier if it was possible for everyone to stay overnight because I got us a great package at in atlantic station . The rooms come with breakfast and family passes to the georgia aquarium with the dolphin exhibit included. I know everyone should be hungry and want to wind down so before we go to our rooms let's stop by . We can enjoy the live jazz band while we eat. The next day once we have breakfast we can walk around since our hotel is located there anyway. The Aquarium was soo much fun I am so glad that we took so many pictures so we can remember every moment. We can make one more stop before you guys go it's just around the corner . Truth be told I had so many other places to show but we would have needed at least a week. Thank you for coming. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.

Great visit Shamika! Thanks! Atlantic Station looks right up my alley. Your link didn't work for the Juke Joint but I get it must be a place for Jazz? Another fav! What a great time! And oh boy do I love some diner food! No way did I make a healthy choice there. Ooops, better hit up that gym of yours again!

Fitness Camp Week 1

Monday, May 06, 2013

I started back at my fitness camp. I did 2 six week camps in the past but what was supposed to be a short break turned into a hiatus. My thinking was that during both camps I was always last on run days, and while everyone was very encouraging I didn't feel very encouraged. My goal was to sit out a camp, and increase my speed (You all know how that turned out). I said enough is enough and rejoined. The camp is 6 or 8 weeks depending on the time of the year but you can choose either option. It is Monday through Friday an hour a day with homework on the weekends. Everyone is placed in a group by color depending on their run time. Every group does the same workout but depending on which group you are in the number of reps or the variation of the exercise changes. Mondays are run days, Thursdays are obstacle course day, and the rest of the week are indoor days. At the start of camp there are several fitness tests that are done again at midpoint, and then again in the end to show each person's progress. The motto of the camp is fitness starts within so you will see improvement before results. Here is a run down of my first week.

Monday-We did the indoor fitness test. Got our weight and fat percentage done along with our before picture, and measurements

Arm- 15
Waist- 51.5
Hips- 59.5
Thigh- 31.5

2 minute sit-up test=29
2 minute push-up(military)= 10 (my first camp I could not do any and second camp only 3)
1 minute switch kicks= 44
flex-test= fingertips

Tuesday- Our 2 mile run, jog, walk whatever you can do. This is done on a very hilly street.
My time was 45:00mins. which has me on team blue. (I was not last, even though now I realize it doesn't matter if I am last as long as I finish)

Wednesday- Upper body with weights

Thursday- Started with us jogging around 2 parking lots to get to where the obstacles were set up.
1st. station: push-ups and tricep dips
2nd. station: walking lunges followed by pop ups
3rd. station: suicides followed by jump ropes
4th. station: run up a flight of stairs run across to the second flight of stairs down those run across and repeat until the whistle is blown to go to the next station
5th station: step ups and taps
This is completed by jogging back through the parking lots back to the studio.

Friday- Total body with weights

1 week down and 7 more to go!!!!

Plans for the break

Monday, April 15, 2013

I have finally accepted the fact that you can not out exercise a bad diet. People say all the time that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. With all that being said I have decided that my focus will be on that. I still plan on working out but nutrition will be where my head is at.

emoticon 1/2 a gallon to a gallon a day.

emoticon Track my food daily.(stop using the excuse I didnt make it at home so I can't track.)

emoticon Sunday will count as my splurge day well actually splurge meal.

emoticon Go back to meatless mondays

emoticon I will plan out meals and grocery shop on Saturdays, and prep for the week on Sundays

My Smart goal for this time
frame: To get my eating habits under control by staying hydrated, and tracking my food 5 out of 7 days weekly.
