Gathering a support system.

Wow. It's been seven months since I last entered on my blog. And I have the weight to prove it. 194. Yesterday I went to my doctor's office. I asked for some help in losing weight, i.e. accountability. She said yes (Yay!) and is making an appt. with a nutritionist and gave me a pamphlet for the Pathways to Health program here. That is a six-week class about goal making and education about your particular challenge. Mine, of course is obesity.
Just keep moving forward, right?

Absolutely right - keep moving forward. As long as you're willing to stand back up and push forward over and over, you can progress toward your goals.

I hope the nutritionist and the classes are a great help to you.

walk at least 10,00 steps a day. my sister lost 93 pounds just walking.

find foods that work with YOUR body chemistry.

i make this mixture for breakfast , lunch and dinner. i have lost 39 pounds .

i cook 4 large portabella mushrooms sliced, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 4 large onions sliced, 2 large green peppers, 3 cans green beans, 1 can rutabaga and 5 sliced chicken sausages. find foods that work with your chemistry. i created this meal on my own. i can't seem to loose weight if i eat any grain products. so one day i experimented.

it makes enough for at least 4 days, three meals a day. total cost is 12 dollars. i buy the mushrooms and chicken at sams club. sounds crazy but it taste good and most importantly it's working. i'm not hungry . if i feel the urge to cheat i go get a fork full of my mixture. i chew very slowly as to enjoy my meal.

i have added a small banana and grapes for my snacks and to be a fix for my sweet tooth.

you can add other foods into your menu. just know what works with your body chemistry.

I have gone from 198 to 159 pounds. i can now fit into a size 12 comfortably. i feel so much better. think of carrying a 2 year old around your waist every minute of every day. no i am not done. on the obese chart i have gone from being obese to just plain fat. my goal is to drop another 12 pounds. then i will be happy, healthy and never allow myself to get in this condition again.

one might say eating the same food every day would get boring. not true. when you look in the mirror and can see the difference it's worth

i went to the doctor. for the first time in a long time i was not ashamed to get on the scale. i did not have to get beet red because doctor said i was over weight. it felt great.

Have to go to the gym tomorrow-can't today.

The gym is closed for the holiday, and I'm bothered by it. Isn't that great?

    HiCOTTRELLI11;

You should look at it as if you have off for the holiday it is nice that others do too. You can take a walk or do some of the Spark fitness exercises. I do my own workouts and don't go to the gym now. I burn more calories than I eat but I can't eat that much food. Stay healthy, happy and love life. God bless you always. Learn something new every day.

Another day.

Monday, August 08, 2011

Sunday is my day off. I watched shows and hung out with my cat all day. Tomorrow I'm walking into town and sitting at the coffee shop reading my magazine, Cooking Light. That will give me a five mile walk. When I get home, I'm stripping my bed linens and going to the laundromat. Then, before dinner, I will put in a little time on my stationary bike. A couple of week's healing, and I can return to work and the gym.
Have a nice evening, folks!

Shingles. Oh no!

Friday, August 05, 2011

Ouchy. It means no work for 2-3 weeks AND no gym. The pain could be better, could be worse, but I'll use my stationary bike here at home. Hopefully, I will get out and walk a bit. I'm not contagious out in the open air like that. The receptionist at the gym had shingles when she was 12!?! And she's had 10 outbreaks since. That gives me perspective. Have you had shingles? How long did they last for you?

Today's Workout.

Saturday, July 30, 2011

I began with strength training, with barbells and exercises. (I hadn't done ST for months!)Then I used the recumbent bike for 15 mins. Next I used the pedal machine for arms. (Anybody know the name of that?) Last I spent 15 minutes on the treadmill. I went downstairs, changed, and hopped in the pool. Swimming laps is my favorite thing. That was 30 minutes. I tell you. In so many ways a good workout just feels fabulous.

That's a lady named Aida that I found on-line. Fantastic. And it is all just one day at a time.
