Spark Coach Challenge - Focus on the positives

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

The Spark Coach Challenge for today is focusing on the positives - we are to list three things that we have accomplished so that when we have a "slip up" we can look back on those and not beat ourselves up.

1. during a VERY stressful situation at work, I did NOT turn to food like I normally would have in that situation. I was able to deal with my stress and my feelings without eating a bag of potato chips

2. I have been saving money. Each paycheck I give $100 to my boyfriend who will then give it to me at the end of the year to pay on my Jeep which means it will be paid off sooner!

3. I can run a mile. Well... jog a mile, but I have never been able to do it before.

yay me!!

Doctor's Appointment and the First Ride of the year

Monday, April 08, 2013

I had a doctor's appointment today. My doctor takes forever... my appointment was for 10:45 and I didn't get out of there until after 2. That is ok though, I didn't throw a fit this time because after I checked in and got my vitals done, I left. I asked when the doctor would be back in, and said I will be back. I went for a nice walk/run all through downtown Altoona.

I don't know the exact distance, but I know that it took me about an hour. I walked and ran through the streets and up and down the big hills. It was pretty awesome.

My appointment was good. My blood work is back and everything is perfect. I am sending it off to my Holistic Nutritionist and see what she thinks. She said her ranges are smaller than theirs. She wants to make sure I am healthy.

Since I am not getting enough leafy green veggies, I think I might try a new supplement. It is through my nutritionist, and I think it might be good. I am going to look more into it. I know there are lots of benefits from eating loss of green veggies. Since my stomach is so small, I am not able to eat a lot of them, but I still want the benefits.

After I went to the doctor's I stopped by the store, and came home. I loaded up my bike and went for the first ride of the year. It was awesome!! I only rode about 10 miles. It was hard! I need to get my butt and legs back into bike mode!

Hopefully I will be going hiking with a friend tomorrow -

Hope everyone has a great night!

I will NOT turn to food!!

Sunday, April 07, 2013

I know I already blogged today, but I wanted to add this little tid-bit...

I had a very stressful situation at work today, I can't get into a lot of details, but suffice to say it was not a good one.

Normally, in this situation, i would have torn into the closest bag of chips, cookies or candy. The thing was... I had all of those things within arms reach of me, and I did not touch them. I only ate my planned food (except for 2 pretzel sticks, but i would have ate those anyway regardless) and I did not tear into the cookies or chocolate that was just sitting on the next desk over.

I was very proud of myself for that

Congrats! Food never solved my problems but it did cause some extra pounds along the way.

Remembering how it feels

Sunday, April 07, 2013

I weigh myself every day. Some people (ok most people) disagree with this practice, but it is what I have to do in order to keep myself in check. This morning I weighed in at 135.6. That is the lowest weight I can ever remember myself weighing in my teenage/adult life. I didn't even weigh this little in high school!

I am perfectly content at this weight. I don't want to go any lower. I am happy here, and I think I look healthy. Now, there may come a time when the scale goes down further (or it may go up for that matter) as I work towards my goal of 17% body fat. Of course, I will be replacing fat with muscle. If the scale goes up, I don't care because I will appear smaller. If the scale goes down, well... I wouldn't complain on that either!

I wore my new Miss Me jeans today... I size 27/31. Honestly, I could get away with a 26, but I like my jeans to have a little room in them. I don't like them falling down, but I like them to have room. I never thought that I would ever wear a size this small! a 27 inch waist? WOW

I am wearing a Jr's T-shirt in a size XL and it has lots of room.

I feel good about myself. I feel good with how I feel physically. I feel in shape and semi-fit (tho admittedly, I have a long way to go on that) I feel good mentally. I like how I look. I have always had more than my fair share of vanity, but I am pleased with how I look.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I want to remember how I am feeling right now. I want to remember all of the fuzzy feelings I am having right now so in the future, when temptation is looking me in the face, I can walk away because I want to continue to have these good feelings.

Hope everyone has a rockin Sunday!

I also weigh myself every day. Rooting for myself to get to the next lower number keeps me (mostly) on the straight and narrow path emoticon

What really grabs my attention is when I hold up my jeans & see how much smaller they are then what I remember being for sooooo many years or when I catch my reflection in passing a window or mirror.

Who IS that girl????

Happy Day!

    Love them too!

I was clued in to them by my 93 year old grandpap who every day ate 3 of them stewed (boiled in water til they get soft and water is syrup).

Now I drink a shot of prune juice a few times a week for 'plumbing enhancement purposes' emoticon

I was afraid I would dump if I ate them whole- maybe I'll try one soon....

Happy Day!
