awesome new Jeep t-shirt and Miss Me jeans

another new t-shirt.

a dress I bought some time ago on clearance at Fashion Bug, but never wore. It is very comfortable.

I got another new t-shirt in the mail but it was too small. I ordered an XL (Jr. size) and it was skin tight. I normally have no problem fitting into a Jr's XL but this was I think was mismarked. I have to send it back :( It was an awesome Harry Potter shirt!

Looking forward to support group tonight. I think it is going to be a good one. The Psychologist that works with our program is going to come in and talk to us. I am really hoping the annoying people aren't there. I know that is horrible, but they are sooo annoying! They have to dominate the group and talk talk talk. Sometimes, I think they just talk to hear themselves!!

Hitting the gym before hand. Not quite sure what I am going to do there, but I think trying to run that mile is on the top of the list!!!

Positive Self Talk - Spark Coach Challenge

Today Spark Coach challenged me to talk positively to myself. That isn't always easy. Especially when I got on the scale today and weighed in at 139.4. I have been 138(ish) the last few weeks.

NOw, the logical part of me knows that it is from eating ham a few times a day for the last three days. The logical part of me knows that maybe I ate a little too much beef jerky. The logical part of me knows that I did ST yesterday and my muscles are sore. I don't always think with my logical part. I was pretty bummed out.

I made myself feel better by going to Buckle and picking up my jeans (size 27 - fit perfect) and by visiting the Tea Merchant and buying some Pineapple Upside Down Cake tea.

I reminded myself of how much I have accomplished and a few pounds of water weight is no big deal. I also decided in the back of my mind to go ahead and purchase the fancy bathroom scale that allows me to get a full body analysis. Of course, part of me is afraid to use that scale because it might not read the same as the scale I have? What if it makes me weigh more??

In reality, the IMPORTANT thing is my inches. When it all comes down to it, not matter what number is on the scale, the inches are the numbers that matter the most. I can't help I am so obsessed with numbers.

When I pre-ordered The Spark Solution, I received two of Coach Nicole's Workout Videos. I gave Cardio Blast a try out today. I liked the workout. It wasn't overly difficult physically, but the coordination needed is the hard part. Stepping here, jumping there... it is all just too much for me to wrap my head around. Plus, trying to do squat thrusts and mountain climbers on carpet with socks on isn't exactly easy. Plus, I had a cat trying to lick the sweat off of my face... *sigh* Don't get me wrong, I liked the workout, but maybe not in the middle of my living room? When it comes to bootcamp type things, I should stick with the gym. Not to mention, I wore a pair of shorty short yoga shorts and my thighs were clapping me on as I did jumping jacks!

All in all... it is an alright day. I am looking forward to Support Group tomorrow night. The Psychologist is coming in to talk to us. I think it will be informative and helpful!

    I ate a ton of ham on Saturday and some on Sunday. I had a 3.6 pound drop on the scale from Monday to Tuesday. So I am really confident you are seeing the same thing due to ham. Evil, sodium-filled ham, lol!

But seriously, I was bummed about the scale too even though I had lost 3.25 inches this past month. It's hard to not focus on it when you know you are working so hard! But it sounds like you are doing great! Congrats on the new jeans!

A Milestone... almost

I ran 0.85 of a mile today! Last time I ran 0.75, so I increased it!

I had a great workout today! I went a little earlier than usual because I had to run to the bank before 14:30. I liked that time better. Less people (douche bags) and I could use the equipment I wanted without being in anyone's way and without them being in mine.

Buckle called, my new jeans are in. I am going to go pick them up tomorrow. On my way, I think I am going to swing into the Tea Merchant and pick up his new blend for the month. I can't take much more of this decaf tea. I am buying regular. I don't think it is going to be the end of the world. At least I am hoping not.

    Go get your regular tea love. I usually stay away from caffeine, the only thing I take that has it is some pain pills every once in a while.

Sweet and Sour Pineapple Chicken (recipe and photo)

12 oz cooked chicken breast cooked and cut into chunks
1 bag of frozen stir fry veggies
1 can (20 ounces) chunked pineapple - in own juice
3 tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Drain pineapple, reserving the juice in a 2-cup measuring cup; set pineapple aside. Add enough water to the juice to measure 1-1/3 cups; stir in the vinegar, soy sauce and ketchup.
In a large bowl, combine brown sugar and cornstarch. Stir in pineapple juice mixture until smooth. Gradually add to the skillet. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add pineapple. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 4-5 minutes or until heated through.

My Family Salts Ham

Dinner at my grandmother's today...

Scalloped Potatoes
Green Bean Cassarole (she makes hers w/ green beans, mushroom soup and velveeta)
Pickled Eggs and Beets
Cole Slaw
Baked Corn
Baked Pineapple

Angel Food Cake
Fresh Sliced Strawberries
Ice Cream
Homemade chocolate peanut butter topping

Lots of good stuff to choose from. I had...
3oz of ham
1/4 cup of baked corn
1/4 cup of green bean cassarole
Literally 1 bite of a roll (my boyfriend finished it)

For desert, I had...
a thin slice of Angel Food Cake
about 2 tablespoons of baked pineapple

All in all, I was pleased with myself for not being a pig. Eating holiday dinners with my family is easy because if I get the urge to eat something "bad" my mother will step in and say "Do you really want to eat that?"

I am very lucky to have a mother like her.

I am the only person in my family that doesn't use a salt shaker. My mother actually salts her ham... WTH?

All in all it has been a good day. I ordered some new tshirts, which I will post pics of when they arrive. I love Tshirts. I buy all sorts of them.

    Congratulations on being able to choose wisely, and stick with it! I'm hoping I have as good of a result today. I'm allowed ONE meal today (besides shakes), and I'm choosing dinner with my daughter's inlaws. Church is having a breakfast, that I'm helping serve, but, I'm going to try, mightily, to NOT munch!

I hear ya on the salt shaker! Until my hubby blew his aorta, salt was a HUGE fighting issue with us! When I first met him, he blew my Mom's mind out when she served steak (which she salted while cooking) and he poured salt on one side until it was white, then flipped it over and salted it AGAIN! Like the nutritionist told him, salt, and sugar, are addictive. You have to be conscious of what you are doing with those shakers!
