For Real? Ohhhh No!!

Thursday, February 02, 2012

I broke my tooth. I was eating a sweedish fish (I have such a weakness for those) and I thought it seemed crunchy. I figured the sugar may have crytalized in it. It wasn't sugar... it was my tooth. It figures. I allow myself 1 fish and my tooth breaks... *sigh*

At least it doesn't hurt.

I am going to call the dentist tomorrow

Boy can I relate. Only I hope your experience is much better than mine and that they will only need to smooth the rough edges! So far this year I am at 1 crown and 2 root canals with 2 additional crowns and possibly two additional root canals needed.
I hate dental work!

I will pray for your tooth to just need to be smoothed and no further dental work to be needed!

OH, that is bad. I hope you aren't in any pain (other than your pocketbook).

Five down... one to go...

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

I had my 5th doctors appointment yesterday. I have one more to go until I schedule with the surgeon. My insurance company requires that I participate in a 6 month doctor supervised diet and exercise program. I just had my 5th appointment.

I haven't been able to show my doctor my logs since I don't really have a way to print them out and there is no wi-fi access at her office. Since I got the Lose It! app for my Nook, I was able to show her since it does not requite wi-fi to use.

She was blown away. She was very impressed. First, she couldn't believe how much time I spent planning and cooking. She looked at my choices, and said that maybe some of them were not the best, but she also took note that I still stayed within my ranges when I did have things like pizza.

I gained 4 pounds. I almost cried. The Doc is right along with me in the frustration. I am so afraid that the insurance will deny me because I keep gaining weight. Doc said if they do, she will help me appeal. The Surgeon's office will as well, but Doc said she would write me a letter or whatever needs done. So that makes me feel better.

In other news... I am going to meet a friend for dinner tonight. We are going to TGi Fridays. I am going to get either the Dragonfire Chicken or the Petite Sirloin w/ broccoli lime slaw or just plain broccoli. either dinner will fit easy into my plan. Really, I just want to spend time with my friend, but since I am alone tonight, it is just easy to go out for dinner and not have to cook for once. I made myself an awesome Monte Cristo Sandwich for breakfast/lunch today.

I think that is all for now

I don't know what is going on, but you sound like you are on top of things even if your body is rebelling a little. Crazy how that happens! My body likes to get stuck at things that end in 0 or 5. It really sucks. 180..... 180...... 180...... then the next week is 179.8. That's when the happy dance comes out.

Tell your Doctor to get WiFi. That's just silly! Every office should have WiFI by now! LOL. (that could be my generation talking)

My cat Leroy keeps running around going "brrrrrr" He is so cute!

I had a really nice day today. A very good friend of mine from work is having problems with her furnace. Basically, the one in her trailer is 40 years old. She needs a new one. Problem is, things are really tight around her house since she has 2 kids and her husband was laid off for a long period of time. They are just now getting caught up on their bills. There is not a lot of extra money. She confided in me that she has more money going out a month than coming in. So, there is defiantly no room in the budget for a new furnace.

I called my dad because I remember that he had said something to my boyfriend about knowing someone who had a furnace. My Boyfriend was looking for a furnace for his garage. To make a long story short, my dad had a mobile home furnace that a friend of his took out of a mobile home he recycled. Anyway, dad said that they could have it.

We went out to my parents house so they could get it. My boyfriend and I stayed after to have dinner with my parents. Mom made a chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing and corn. It was delicious. A lot better for me than the pizza we were going to pick up on the way home. When I tracked it, I used approximations since I didn't measure anything out. I went off of sight. Plus my mom uses skim milk in cooking and doesn't use butter. I think the counts for the prepared foods include them, but it is ok. It was nice to spend an evening with my parents and I didn't have to pay $15 for dinner.

When I came home, I finished packing my lunch for work for the next few days. I work on Monday and Tuesday so, I made lemon-pepper talpia w/ brown rice and mixed veggies. For desert I made sugar free fat free chocolate pudding that I am putting in the freezer to make a delicious treat.

I think that is all for now

Lose It! and treadmill issues

Thursday, January 19, 2012

I got a new app for my Nook - it is called Lose It! They do not have a spark app available, so I figured this was something good. It allows me to track my food and exercise. I actually like it a lot. It has cute little icons beside all of the food. I figured this would allow me to show my doctor my food logs and for her to look at them. I haven't been able to do that.

I have treadmill issues... I know you are not supposed to hold on... however, I almost have to unless I am walking 1 mile an hour... I don't know why I get confused... but I do and then I lose my footing... I shouldn't walk and chew gum at the same time... so take it from there.

I did have a nice workout at the gym today. I worked on the treadmill on incline intervals... It really kicked my butt. There is some discrepancies as to which is better... incline vs speed... but every time I do speed I end up hurting myself. I will just stick with incline for the time being and not hurt myself.

I think that is all
