Flowers in the Attic and Random Photos of stuff

Sunday, January 19, 2014

I was really excited to watch Lifetime's film adaptation of VC Andrew's Flowers in the Attic.

I think they did a really great job and stayed pretty true to the book.

I remember reading it as a teenager, and I still love to read Andrew's books. I have read everything that has been published under her name up to 2010. I haven't read the most recent stuff

    LOL love the shirts
Flowers in the Attic...freaked. me. out.

I was just talking to my mom about - realized I didn't get freaked out as a kid reading the book...maybe because I didn't quite "get it"? But now...I get it. EW!

I really enjoyed the movie too and agree that is stayed pretty close to the book. I read the series when I was a kid and think the first one was always the best.

Loved the books, haven't seen the movie, didn't even know there was one. I will have to look it up.

I remember reading that book when I was in high school; I think just about every girl in my class read it.

I only read about a half dozen of her books; to me, they just started to seem too much alike and the stories too predictable.

One of those days (photo)

Friday, January 17, 2014

Last night at work was one of "those" days... you know the ones where you just sit there with a stupid expression on your face?

They don't have... tea?

Friday, January 10, 2014

I went to the store yesterday for my weekly shopping and they were out of tea!! Ok... not exactly out of "all" teas, but they were out of my tea, so in my head, they were out of tea. I mean, honestly, how do you run out of Red Rose?

It has been so cold here. My body can't take it. Everyone keeps telling me it is because I am "too thin" but I don't think that is exactly it. When I lost weight, my blood pressure went back to "normal" which normal for me is usually 90 (something) / 60 (something) and that is why I am cold all of the time. When my blood pressure was "high" 120 (something) / 80 (something) I wasn't always cold. It makes sense?

I had an awesome workout week. On Wednesday I even did two classes. I am really loving the gym's new Tabata class, and am glad they are adding more, however, I am not a fan that they are replacing a few PC Fit classes with it. I was really hoping they would add more Tabata in addition to the PC Fit classes. Anyway though, I really do like the Tabata. It is super intense and not for beginners! Paul REALLY kills it.

Not much else to report right now

I feel the same about my fave hot beverages. Yesterday I went to get some chai and the milk steamer was down. Only iced or frozen chai. As far as I was concerned, there was nothing available... I had a pear.

Funny you should mention Red Rose. Of the tea bag teas, it's my fav, too.

We used to live in Boulder, CO, and for a long time they didn't have it, there. We used to buy it, here (NH), and send it to a tea-junky friend of ours in CO.

My sister-in-law collects the little ceramic knickknacks they put in the boxes, and we save those for her.

Red Rose became a connection point for us with friends and family.

Sound like you're doing well on your plan,

Lee

I've become a 'my food' hoarder emoticon caused by just this situation!

No one store sells all my fav go-to foods, so when I finally make the trip, I buy 2 or even 3 of each item!

I can't believe people are telling you that you're cold because you're too thin. That's dumb. When I get cold I do jumping jacks until i'm nice and tasty again. My co-workers think I'm NUTZ!

Isn't it ironic? Don't-cha think?

Thursday, December 26, 2013

When I was in high school, there was a group of boys (Toby, Nathan, Chad, Bobby and Eric) that were total jerks to me. They used to ask me on dates as jokes, they got my phone number and would call my house and be stupid, they would steal my notebook in the library and make fun of my stories and poetry... the list goes on and on...

They always picked on me for being fat and called me horrible names. In fact, their tormenting was one of these reasons I suffered from disordered eating if not an out right eating disorder.

So, anyway, last Friday I was at the courthouse. My BFF got picked up on a bench warrant due to non payment of cost and fines. I went to her arraignment for support, and also to see if there was anything I could do to get her out of there!

Her boyfriend got a ride to the courthouse (he doesn't drive) with none other than one of the above mentioned boys from my youth, Nathan. When I saw him walk in the courtroom, I felt very uncomfortable. I ignored him though.

After she was arraigned and the judge agreed to let her out, I left the courtroom with her boyfriend and Nathan. We have to wait for her to get processed, which was going to take a while. We all stood around talking for a while so we could arrange to pick her up and get her home.

To make a long story short, once she arrived home, she sent me two messages

"home"

"Nathan thinks you're hot"

well... isn't that ironic? When of the D-bags that tormented me in high school for being "fat" now thinks I am hot... funny how that works out.

I was also mistreated in school. They didn't understand me, and was part of the reason I ended up fat.

I was teased and tormented in school also, some of that teasing is the reason for some of my problems today. I have a hard time trusting people. I wasn't fat I was extra skinny.
