I'm celebrating my anniversary, New Year's, and my Birthday with a nice quiet evening at home....

Saturday, December 31, 2011

I hardly ever make resolutions. I can never stick with them. But this year I have more confidence, because I have the lifestyle change mentality.
1. I hope to exercise at least 5 days/week.
2. Reach my goal weight by May for my class reunion.
3. Organize/clean a spot, counter, or drawer every day.
4. Be productive almost everyday. Do a fix-it project, work on a craft or sew or quilt.

Best of luck to all of you with your goals. Happy New Year!

OH NO!!!!! I fell off the wagon and on to the cookie tray!

Sunday, December 25, 2011

Oh no! I fell off the wagon, and on to the cookie tray! LOL I haven't done so well as far as watching my calories lately. I have three trays of cookies, still waiting to help our families celebrate. I know that my sneaking a few too many goodies is not a habit, so I'm okay with it. When my company is gone, things will settle down quickly. I hope you all are doing well, and enjoying the Christmas season with family and friends! Christmas blessings to you all!

It's definitely good to recognize that a couple indulgences don't mean giving up. Go you, getting started again!

Sewing up a storm!

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

I am amazed at myself how much I have gotten done in the last 2 weeks. I made my daughter a 2-pc. outfit, both my daughters a pair of pajamas, 11 pairs of actual boxers shorts for a couple of my sons(they like homemade) and--- 2-pc. pajamas for 6 of the little grankids. That's a total of 29 things!!! They were all easy patterns, and I sew very fast, and assembly line style, but that's still good! A few more projects and I'll be ready for the holidays. I should be thin from not having time to eat, but I've mastered chewing and sewing simultaneously. emoticon

Boy, have you been busy! Lots of great completed projects. My current projects are shortening Hubby's pants and putting a zipper in my jacket.

Good for you. Sewing is a wonderful art of skill. I remember my mother sewing Christmas Pajama's for my two brothers and me every Christmas (until I was, at the very least, "too old" to wear "Santa" PJ's (ha ha).

I'm sure, if not now - Later in life, your children will look upon your efforts with fondness and love.

I applaud you and your command of a disappearing art and skill.

Amen! No crisis, after all!

Thursday, December 08, 2011

I thought I was having a computer crisis last night, but I think we have it worked out. My screen just died, I didn't really lose everything . But I had to buy a $100 new monitor which lets us see the screen. The stuff is still there, but now I have a laptop connected to a (huge)monitor connected to a separate keyboard and it won't all fit in my computer desk. :( I hope Santa brings me a new laptop for Christmas! He knows I know he knows I need one!! emoticon I am just glad I didn't lose all my pictures of the grandbabies, etc. Thank you, Lord!!!!

I've got my fingers crossed for you that Santa will take care of you this year with the laptop you need. I got one of the mini laptops last year and I love it!

Phew! That's so scary. A good friend of mine had to send hers in for repair to the power jack and they wiped her hard drive, losing all her photos. She's heartbroken.

A great relaxing day!

Monday, December 05, 2011

Today was a great day for relaxing! After the snow yesterday, I felt like staying in and hunkering down. Yesterday was our town's Christmas Tour of Homes. Our home was featured. It was 2 weeks of a lot of work, but a great incentive to get several decorating projects and fix-it jobs taken care of that I've procrastinated about for 2 1/2 yrs--since we built our house. I usually keep busy, but certain projects just kept getting put off. Don't get me wrong, I didn't get my WHOLE list done, but I'm thankful for what I did do. Plus our home is now officially cleaned and decorated for the holidays! Yipee!!!! Anyway, tomorrow is back to the grindstone. I have a neglected list of Christmas sewing projects now. :( It will be a shame to not get them done, and have to go shopping , AGAIN!!!! emoticon Enjoy the holidays! Pam
