I was ready to resign myself to some indoor exercise this morning, when my wife came downstairs, and said, "Aren't you going to run this morning? It looks like the rain is letting up." Of course, she was dressed in her running clothes and ready to head outside. How could I say "No" to her.
So we both headed out a little later than usual this morning. It rained on and off during the first part of the run, and then within about a half-mile of my usually turn-around point, I saw the lightening flash across the sky. That was my signal to head for home.
Needless to say, I made good time getting back, but not before the clouds cut loose with a torrent of rain as I approached our neighborhood. My wife fortunately made it home before me, and didn't get too soaked, but she got rained on enough to have a new story to tell.
