"Back to School"

Saturday, May 30, 2009

Today I went "back to school". My job is providing continuing education for a new program. I was not looking forward to it, or the fact that I needed to be there by 8:00 A.M. I arrived at 8:07 A.M.; not bad for me! There is some new information, but in a way it ties up alot of other information. The class is not too big; the food was great! All in all, it went much better than I thought. I will be ready to go back tomorrow!

Glad the class wasn't so bad, but hope the food being "great" doesn't cause overindulgence!

Today was the one chosen for me to meet my weight loss goal. I did not; I am not dissappointed. It has been incredible since last June, when these goals were made. I have lost 30 lbs, and only have gained back one pound. I have lost over 2 inches from my neck, and 7-8 inches from my waist and hips. Getting to a 35 inch waist is a goal. I have made steady changes with my diet, and am definitely eating more healthy than 1 year ago. My challenge n0w is to steadily increase the days that I spend exercising, esp. the cardio aspect. There is so much more to come!

You have the right attitude. You are making progress so it isn't a problem if you didn't actually make a goal that you set a long time ago. Sometimes, setting these goals can get us depressed so just remember you are doing great!

It has been said of me that all it took to make me happy were some cookies and punch. Well, tonight revealed that might not be true.
My girlfriend thought that some of us should sign up through the local college to learn how to bake cookies. That class was held tonight. The instructor taught us how to make pecan tassies, lady locks, carmel cups, and kovlachi(cold dough) cookies. She had prepared the dough, and we made cookies. We then sampled the cookies.
I felt full after eating two cookies. The sight of all those cookies(more than 12 dozen) was too much, as well as all of those smells. We boxed up some cookies, and the other students kept adding a couple more to the box. I wanted to say "That's too much"(like the line from the price is right).
I am not the same person that I used to be. Granted, I was tired. But, I did not crave the cookies like I once did. What a hurdle to clear! I am relearning how to eat, and hence, how to not overeat.
P.S. -When I came home, I sampled another cookie with a small glass of milk!

Well, I'm impressed. I have finally figured out (but don't always act on the knowledge) that I mostly overeat or overindulge in something like cookies when I am tired.

My new personal goal is to lie down when I notice that I am not ready to stop eating. Sounds simple, but seeing that you have overcome your cookie issue makes me determined to overcome mine!

Isn't it a great feeling to find you aren't tempted by something that used to be a diet downfall? Good for you!

Good for you! I am not so sure that I could be that good, and I liked the PS that you sampled one. That is truly having great willpower and a positive attitude! emoticon

R, R, and R!

Friday, April 17, 2009

There are some things where no explanation is needed. That would have been the case if I just said "R and R". Everyone knows that this stands for rest and relaxation. But is that sufficient enough for a team that is known for reading? That is why I added the third "R", which stands for reading. Now that Easter is past, and taxes accounted for, I wish you a wonderful weekend of Reading, Rest, and Relaxation!

Surpise! You are Pampered Princess for the day!

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

What a surprise I had in store when I went to open my e-mail and found that I had several messages on my SparkPage. I usually get on the computer at the end of the day when everything else is done. Today, being Tuesday, that was bowling. I bowl with some great people! It was a great surprise to be Pampered Princess for the Day! I know I have done nothing to deserve this, in fact, I still am trying to figure this "pampering" out. I consider myself to be very blessed; so every day I am rewarded. It may be a kind word, or someone does me a favor, or even the random act of kindness by a stranger; these are my rewards. Plus, I have family and friends, including making some new friends at SparkPeople. What more could anyone want?
Thank-you for all the messages on my SparkPage. That in itself has made this a very special day.
