This is my story.
My wife is a life long vegetarian and we have raised our kids as vegetarian.
I have always been , "mostly vegetarian".
About 76 days ago I adopted a new plan for my life.
I called it my NEW LIFE PLAN.
This plan I used soy meat and cheese to because they were lower in calories thus my diet changed from a little meat to full vegetarian.
The plan consisted of a healthy breakfast under 600 calories.
2 cups of a vegetable stir fry and some soy cheese and meat for lunch and most days for dinner.
This allowed me room for some nuts and chocolate snack at night.
The snack allowance has helped me from binging many times.

However I have binged and still lost weight !

The main thing is consistancy and when we slip up to get up and get back on the wagon and keep going on our journey.

In the 75 day i have lost 30 pounds with 45 total since my highest weight here on Spark People.
I continue to lose 2 to 4 pounds a week eating my vegetable mix and healthy lifestyle that includes regular walking and weight training.
I currently weigh 268 with a goal weight of 180 (88 pounds to go).
I am currently disabled due to issues that make it very discouraging to workout much.
This means that most of my weigh loss has been with minimal workouts at times.
I credit the food choices to the majority of loss.

So no matter your weight , your disability that limits your amount of working out you too can lose weight !
BE ENCOURAGED TODAY !!

Back out Back in !

I threw my back out pretty good about a week ago. Finally this afternoon after swimming(to help my kids learn how better) I must have gotten whatever back in line causen my back is not hurting at all!

3)exercise: ? yesterday 6.60 miles today 5 miles walking and some laps at the Y as I taught my kids to swim!

5) read other blogs and posts for extra motivation? Check !

6) weight loss-not required but nice to see-- 2 pounds

Back is still giving some problems grrr . going to go to the Y and do some swimming lessons for my kids. will try and get a lap or 2 in if My back losens up.

Thanks to all my spark friends and motivational folks who have kept me going. To my wonderful wife and sisters who motivate me daily and weekly.

Blood pressure is 100 over 62 with a pulse of 74 !

Day 74 of my NEW PLAN and all is going great? Yes ! I reached my 2nd weight loss goal !

269 today ! It was also my vacation goal and I am 6 days ahead of schedule!


1) eating right? Yes !

2)calories in healthy range? Yes !

3)exercise: ? yesterday 3.11 miles today 6.60 miles

calories burned walking alone ? yesterday 586 today 1243
This number i hate seeing but I dare not aggravate my back at
this time so close to our trip!
calories eaten ? yesterday 1890 today I came down with a cold and just feel like going to bed early will be in bed soon and am not eating any more .today 1179

~TRANSFORMATION~ My SPARK to You !

I have heard and seen so many people blame laziness on their disability. I am not saying any one is lazy on here so please do not get me wrong.
I am referring to myself actually.
I used to sit in my lazy boy and play games and eat whatever and do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted.
I would have my wife bring me this or that . Do not get me wrong I went to the bathroom and got stuff for myself when she was not around and if the kids were in bed...

Yes something is different now.
I decided to try my best and make our life better.
I changed many of my habits .

Old habit - Having wife or kids grab me a pop or just about anything.

New habit- No more gophers -99% of the time i go get things myself now.
Still working on 100%

Old habit -have wife make herself and kids meals 85% of the time ..even if she has to go to work that day.

New Habit- Cook my own weight control meals and the kids lunch and dinner myself
(they usually eat cereal for breakfast)

Old habit-spend even when she said we were broke and tell her to not worry about it.

New habit- Cut coupons , shop sales conserve energy in many ways I would have never known ( Living Life On a shoestring -team) before Spark and some I knew but was too lazy to actually do.

Old Habit- No budget ,just say it will all be OK and listen to my lovely wife be sad over all her hard work not going near as far as it should . This includes my blowing money on whatever game or toy i want.


New Habit- working with the wife to decide on purchases before hand and budgeting all phases of our life.

Old habit- Play online games 12 to 14 hours somedays..Hey I was good somedays and limited myself to only 6 to 8 come on!

New habit- Online game canceled due to lack of interest and others on the online not having time for a part time player... Spending more time being a active father and doing things with my family. Game time went from 60 to 100 hours a week to I do not know may be 6 a week. With 0 online.

Old habit- Eating frozen meals in my chair and drinking 3 two liter bottles of diet cherry coke a day .

New habit - Having a large glass mug next to my lazy boy full of water and drinking 8 to 10 glasses of the clean stuff a day. We go monthly or bi monthly to a free spring and fill up jugs.
Eating ..well i probably save a hour a day in the amount of time i am not eating or preparing food for myself. I eat at the table with the family more and more.

Old habit- complain about exercising and not watch what I eat .

New habit- log everything I eat (over 70 days in a row now) and have to stop for my kids ..needing a breather on our walks.

Old habit- Bad blood pressure 130 over 90 (just a little may be i shoulda waited till it got higher?)

New habit-Watching my blood pressure go down 100 over 63 resting the other day!

Old habit- Being the heavy guy - 313 pounds

New habit- Being the guy on a journey to look back at the heavy guy and be grateful he decided to change!
271 pounds and feeling better every day!

I thank God for giving me the strength every day.

Then I get up and ACT !

I do things now !

    I will definitely join you babe!!!
Lots of those things sound like me. I did the childcare, got out of it since no one paid on time. So this will be my 2nd week at home with NO KIDS!! I have been cleaning out my office, and will move my a$$ OFF this couch and do my EBAY stuff in my office!!

The living room will turn back into a semi gym.....Nice treadmill, weight bench, elliptical, Wii workouts, plenty of Workouts DVD's with DUST on them.

I eat great, my problem is alcohol which I am working VERY hard to stay away from. Going to therapy and may start separate sessions with other chicks that drink too much. I need it, I admit.......

I am bigger now than I ever was when I was pregnant.......WTF? So I AM READY AND THIS CHALLENGE IS ON!!!!!!

AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF!!! TODAY MY BROTHER CAME UP WITH A GREAT SUGGESTION FOR A FAMILY PORTRAIT SOON!!!!! (I AM THINKING....OH NO!!)
BUT MORE MOTIVATION!!!! I NEED IT.........


OH! AND GO BEARS!!!!!
