Threw out back ..

I have been told numerous times lately by friends that I was over

doing it . My back finally decided the same. Yesterday I was painting

the handicap deck on the rental and my back was hurting some....

then I hopped off the deck ..only about 1 to 2 feet down but it was

enough to pinch the nerve that used to caUSE me so much pain.

It kept me up all night as well. I guess I should have listened to

my friends other then the fact I knew the risk and we are so far

behind due to lazy workers I went ahead and over did it. I pulled

out my old pain pills and will have to take them today as the bath

room is a job the worker can not do properly... Too many slants and

slopes building a roll in shower that I have never done and thus do

not want him to attempt. I will take pics today!

I am about to load up my truck and head to the hardware

store then back for 6 hours on the rental. I sure hope the

worker got some stuff done.. but as lately I will not hold my

breath.. emoticon I am happy the glass is 1/2 full and

that I have someone to keep an eye on me when I am there at

    I'M GLAD TO HEAR EVERYTHING IS WORKING OUT.

TODAY WAS BUSY. SAW NEURO IN MILWAUKEE AT 9:00 AND THEN HAD TEETH CLEANED IN GREEN BAY AT 2"00 WE THEN WENT TO SEE HUBBYS BROTHER AT REHAB CENTER. HE HAD A STROKE A WEEK AGO AND IS COMING ALONG FINE.

Hi all you folks in loads of pain from varied reasons .

I am a 10 year Vet of pain management. When I used to hear pain

management I thought:

" WHAT A CROCK OF MANURE"

I will explain , that I assumed that by managing they would

take me off my pain medications and I would hurt more ....

Thus I was not falling for that ..A way for insurance company

to save money at my expense.

However recently (about 10 months ago ) I began doing small

workouts to try and slowly strengthen my low back

(main source of pain ) and my weak knees and ankles.

This along with eating my Vege mix (see recipe on my Sparkpage)

and completing Sparks official stressbuster challenge

(see my awards!) have assisted me on the way to be totally pain

free. I still have weak knees and ankles , my bad back is still there

... BUT I manage the pain differently now and can do 2 to 3

days in a week of physical jobs with very little to no pain ..even long

squats to do low to the ground work... This before would have

made me almost cry in pain. I also no longer take anything even

aspirin for my pain since it has slowly been managed!

The reason I wanted to share this with everyone was 2 neato articles

    I READ A LOT FROM REAL AGE ALSO..... AND I TOTALLY AGREE THAT LOWERING YOUR STRESS...... EXERCISING.... GETTING A BETTER SLEEP.. AND EATING GOOD FOODS CAN HELP TO REDUCE THE PAIN... BUT I GUESS THAT ALSO DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR GETTING THE PAIN FROM..... SOME TIMES MED'S ARE STILL NEEDED... AND THAT IS IN MY CASE.... BUT SLOWLY AND SURLY I HOPE TO GET OFF OF MOST OF MY MED'S..... A Solid Wall , A Pile of Straw , Apple Cider and Pumpkins

Fall officially is here and I am loving it!



Mortar man today I was ! I had volunteered to help with a

task for a church member and it ended up being a cinder block

retaining wall. I worked for 3 1/2 hours before we had to leave.

We had all but the caps and a little fill to be done by the other

guy. Happy with the results as was the lady who came out and was

cheering our job on. My youngest were at a kids club event while

me and my 10 yr DS were doing the retaining wall. The lady was

very nice who was doing the kids club and brought my kids over to

me allowing me to help get mostly finished with the retaining wall.

We then went and got a bite to eat and off to another event.

The hayride!

A local park had 3 tractors with trailers and hay hooked up....

a hayride with apple cider and popcorn free after! The kids

each received a free large pumpkin as well. Tired and achy back

I was cooked by the time we got home.

Mac's Drawbridge is closed....But the ramp/sidewalk is finished

I had forgotten to post a pic of our finished sidewalk last week...

So here it is ,a little ramp that will make it easier for my

friends with disabilities to come to my place any time and

hang out. I also had the wife take a couple of pics of me in my going

out duds...



The Mac's drawbridge joke got lost somewhere along the lines lol

I was trying to say since the sidewalk was not finished it was a

drawbridge like thing .... Anyways it did not come out as I thought.
