I have not written in 3 days and probably by most blogs that is really not a big deal. But i feel like when I stop writing blogs I am usually ashamed to be here. I tried taking some time off exercise last week. With the storm it was pretty easy to bypass the gym. But as usual if I don't workout i seem to eat more then usual and my weight just skyrockets. So here I am back again trying to stay in my calories. I read another blog where someone said with the new yr you think of all the new starts you can make and then it comes you get far into January and nothing changes. Now we are over a week into Feb and UGH. I am just rambling. I am gonna have another good day today like I did yesterday.
I am trying to pick out new vibrams to get. I was waiting until all the new designs came out but it seems like they are making more shoes for kicking stuff and hiking so the new designs don't help me in the running department. So I am going back and buying another pair of the shoes I already have. The colors suck though =( I think I am gonna get a mens pair cuz their colors are slightly better. Scott got a 25% coupon for a website we bought vibrams from in the past. So 65 dollars KSO's!
On a positive note Scott and I celebrate 7 yrs of being together today and I finished this AMAZING book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I have never cried listening to an audio book but this will make you cry. I hope someone has read it. I need a person to talk about it with lol
I was so excited about that challange ride all day yesterday. Came home from work and took a nap and planned on being there early. I was out to leave at 5:10 to be there at 5:30 and then discovered it started at 5 UGHHHHHH! I was so angry with myself. I could have had fun burning 900 calories at something I signed up for 2 weeks ago and I missed it! I would have showed up late but there was about 6 ppl on a waitlist so I am sure it was full. This week was already sparse on cardio now it's super sparse. It's ok tho move on Julie there will be more challange rides!
Right now I am waiting to see if I need to go into work and replace this girl that's sick. I would normally not wanna go. But with all this snow I am really short on hrs this week and could really use her hrs. Plus my friend is getting married this yr in Washington and I need money to be there. Marathon is this yr. Need shoes. Need money lol Can't be shorted on hrs. Ok i am going in, he called. yay 5 hrs of work!
A girl mumbled this when she held a door open for me last night while leaving the gym. All I could think was, Why? Why do you need someone else to kick u around in order for u to get cardio. That is not gonna last. I kicked my own ass last night and I am proud of it! I go to classes to have fun and interact with ppl not to get abused. I ran 2.5 miles last night on the treadmill after zumba and lifting UGH that was miserable. The treadmill and I are not friends, I wanna punch the treadmill in the face.
Tonight is a 90 minute spin challange ride at Gold's! Three spin teachers are leading it so this should be interesting. Two I really like and 1 i really really dislike. I hate when ppl are super nice but their teaching skills are very bad bad bad. Hopefully she wont be teaching much lol
Leaving town last weekend and being forced to not workout for the first 3 days the week was a nice break and reboot to my system. What sucks is I really wanna focus on my half marathon training and my only option is the treadmill. I was listening to Scott talk to his brother on the phone the other day telling him how he is just doing the Illinois Half Marathon this yr. He said "Yeah half's are nice, you really don't even have to train for them". PSH whatever! The Chicago Marathon opened up for registration 4 days ago and I am still really humming and hawing over it. So much in the past yr I have waited and waited to sign up for and then POOF too late all full! I just hate signing up for a marathon that costs 145 dollars (YES FREAKING WENT UP 20 DOLLARS SINCE LAST YR!!!ughhhh) in february when running 2.5 miles on a treadmill is awful. I did run 3 miles last week tho with Kate outside and I could have gone another 3 easily cuz it was just soooo nice to be outside. At the end of fall last yr I was running 20 miles a week. Really enjoying the hell out of my 5-6 mile runs. Avoiding running like the plague all winter cuz its treadmill or nothing at all is leaving me so clueless. I can't wait for spring. Everything feels so out of whack. Learning to finally embrace it and figuring out alternatives. But still working out at the gym 5-6 days a week does not give u any feelings close to what u find outside.
I had a nice weekend away and almost saw signs of spring actually but then that was crushed with our midwest snowathon. Last saturday I got to run 3 miles with my friend Kate, sooooo nice! We had a really nice time visiting my old boss and we marbled fabric for 5 hrs and drank wine Saturday night. The more I drank the better I got lol Pics from my trip.

As soon as I got back from Carbondale ppl started freaking out about this snow storm coming. We ended up getting 13 inches of snow but also got high winds, sleet and thundersnow! I didn't work yesterday but I did work today. Our whole state was under a State of Emergency along with indiana and missouri. I picked my boss up today at an intersection to get her to work. After being in the house so much yesterday I was up for doing anything today lol

Oh I also came home to a new laptop on Sunday. Scott has been so fed up with my laptop that he bought me a new one when I was on my trip. So I am using that now. Early 7 yr anniversary gift. Anyway only cardio i have gotten this week was shoveling Scott's truck out. I am dieing to return to the gym.Tomorrow I will be back in action and ugh i will feel so much better and my eating will be better. Today's eating good but its been bad not just bad but awful. I filled my house with good foods knowing this storm was coming. But instead I dug thru my cabinets and eat chips and worst crap I could find. My squirrel brain was stocking up for the miserable horrible winter we have had. I hope everyone is doing well and has power! Supposed to be -9 tonight =(
